🔴 IT’S 2006, & my university is putting on a production of my favorite Shakespearean play, Much Ado About Nothing. I get a call back Beatrice - the lead role. 🔴
I study and practice and grind to give it my best. I get the chance to proceed to the FINAL CALLBACK where I do chemistry reads with
@jonyricker and
@pommekoch (I think??). My full heart is in it!!! I think I’m gonna get it!!! It feels so right!!!
But I don’t.
The role goes to
@heyitsmeallib - and she kills it. Goddammit.
But because of this, I pivot and get cast in an indie film and then a play where, randomly, for both I have to learn how to pole dance - something that becomes a huge part of my life.
Cut to, 3 months ago,
@clauddog reaches out and asks if I want to play Beatrice in our community theatre production of Much Ado. I burst into real tears, and we do the damn thing. Coming together to do art for art’s sake brings me immense happiness, and there is no other production I’d rather be apart of.
Anyways, this is happening this weekend. The universe has a funny way of giving and taking away opportunities, but I am finally gonna get to play my dream role.
