"As a background to my practice and how it has developed, I use my first full -length theatre dance work, Mindimi (1999) as an example. Mindimi (Directed by Sally Richardson with sound composed by Cat Hope and the script written by myself), demonstrates how I manipulated sacred Hindu iconography to depict secular narratives of my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother. "
An excerpt titled Mindimi Trek was a 15 min dance solo presented in Toronto, Tokyo, New York and Melbourne 2003- 2007
Excerpt from my exegesis, Urban Kali, from sacred dance to secular performance, 2018.
