Here is me driving and reflecting on the songs of my album with @paro_x_paro and @banananap_____ When thinking about where You Were The Fire I Was The Fever came from there is much to say. It started as an immediate reaction to the events of one night that split my life in a „before and after“ situation. I suddenly lost someone who constituted the way I saw the world and how I moved in it. In this overwhelming experience I found strange joy and transformation in turning to music. It was my refuge and I never expected those moments to become anything more than my way of dealing with big stuff or forming actual songs. Looking back those songs brought me a long way and lived through some tranformation themselves. They had their part in me finding incredible friendships who became my superpower and even finding some healing. They gave me chances to connect and work with such talented people in creating the record and took my band and I out on a beautiful tour, meeting so many amazing folks and giving us excuses to do what we love. Devin Heat ist der Name des Bremer Songwriters David Weingärtner, der in einer abgelegenen Ecke Norddeutschlands aufgewachsen ist. Sein Elternhaus zog einen Haufen von Musikern, Truckern und gebrochenen Herzen an, die sich im Sommer um Lagerfeuer versammelten und Geschichten von Zeichen und Wundern erzählten. März gleich doppelt supportet von No Berlin (überraschenderweise) aus Berlin und Devin Heat aus Bremen 💕💘 No Berlin ist eine in Berlin ansässige Power-Pop- und Alternative-Rock-Band unter der Leitung von Mark Eric Lewis. Das 2021 gegründete Quartett – Lewis, Brodie White, Mario Quezada-Boye und Jeff Collier – verbindet die Energie des Alternative Rock der 90er Jahre mit roher emotionaler Ehrlichkeit. Auf ihrer kommenden EP „Maybe I Should Figure Out Why I Am So Angry All the Time“ (Quasi Pop, Frühjahr 2026) präsentiert sich die Band heavier, wütender und introspektiver denn je. Angetrieben von Frustration und Selbstreflexion verwandelt No Berlin emotionale Turbulenzen in melodische Katharsis und fängt den Sound einer Band ein, die sich ihrem inneren Chaos mit Trotz und Herz stellt. Hinter Devin Heat steckt der Songwriter David Weingärtner. Er ist in einer entlegenen Ecke Norddeutschlands aufgewachsen, wo es wenig zu sehen gab außer den Horizont über dem Moor und wie die Tage kamen und gingen. Sein Elternhaus zog verschiedenste Musiker, Trucker und gebrochene Herzen an, die sich um Lagerfeuer versammelten und sich Geschichten von Zeichen und Wundern erzählten. Als Weingärtner sich in der Folge des plötzlichen Tods seines Vaters an diesen Orten wiederfand, tauchte er wieder ein in die Geschichten und die Ereignisse, aus denen er gewissermaßen gemacht ist. Inspiriert von der Figur seines Vaters und dieser Welt entstanden die Songs, die sein Debüt Album „You Were The Fire I Was The Fever“ wurden. Zuletzt erschien die kleine Tape EP Brewery Session mit einigen ausgewählten Live Versionen des Albums.

Last night was absolutely amazing! 💛✨ @blondinemorisson played her last Dutch show (for now, she will come back) at @de_graanrepubliek , and we invited @luikmusic and @devinheat_ to join as well.
