If you ever need a conversation starter show up to a party in a jumpsuit with a stuck/ broken zipper so your outfit is only half on (bless this blazer) and you can’t use the bathroom till your friends cut you out with scissors and pliers at the end of the night (last slide)!! Last week in Los Angeles celebrating #SouthAsianExcellence at the #Oscars2024 💙 Photos in order: 1. Never miss an opportunity to show people I’m wearing a jumpsuit (“with pockets!”) when they compliment my gown. This one’s by @taruntahiliani and a rewear from one of my pre-wedding events almost exactly 4 years ago! 2. My mom told me to stop talking about my boobs on Instagram but I couldn’t post this photo without further commentary 😬, which is that I took the step and repeat photo at the end of the night, didn’t bring my pump and nearly turned into a (two) pumpkin(s) before the clock struck midnight 🎃🎃 3. So much so that my jumpsuit strap came flying off right before I left due to the growing situation and @tsakhuja_walia and I had to take one last photo as evidence 🙃 4. Some pretty fabulous folks (and hosts!) at a brunch where the only non water drink options were chai and tequila and I think that should be mandatory from here on out 🥳 5. Portrait at said brunch, forgot to take my hair tie off my wrist but certainly laughing at something funny @claudlyon said, promise it wasn’t the tequila 6. A selfie with queen @claudlyon with godawful lighting (sorry!!) but must include because it’s the only one I have and she is hilarious (see above), a true champion for actors, and someone I’ve been lucky to know for most of my years in this industry and always thrilled/ relieved to see in rooms like these (also more people like this running things in this business, please!!) 7. Getting on a 6 hour flight to go back to work less than a month postpartum (and post-op) has certainly been scary, challenging, and full of mixed emotions, but I couldn’t be more excited to join this stellar cast, play a CIA agent with BOTH a button up personality AND a wild side 😮😈🫠 and even reunite with my boy @felixasolis for the first time since @therookiefeds 💙. But most of all, I’m grateful to be able to work with the amazingly supportive @alexi.hawley again, whose sets are always so wonderful and whose scripts are a total blast! And everyone who has educated me on pumping, pumps, flying with breast milk 🍼🍼🍼… it’s a full time job and so real!! (Seriously if anyone has questions on that front the advice has been so invaluable and I couldn’t be happier to pass it along 🫶🏽) #TheRecruit

Last week, a nor’easter wind blew across the east coast, generating the biggest waves we’ve seen in the NY area in over a decade. The next day, in the midst of the storm, we welcomed our son Vayu Bhise Gilson to our family!! Vayu (VAH-yoo) means The Wind in Sanskrit 🌬️ and we call him Vai for short 🥰 Some scary pregnancy complications towards the end that ultimately led to a C-Section — so grateful for our care team at @weillcornell and @brooklyndoula for keeping both mama and baby safe during delivery. This operation is no joke, and I am in awe of all the c-section mamas who make post-op recovery while nurturing their newborn look so graceful. So excited to be raising this baby in this village! 🐣💕👶🏽
