Today is my birthday! I’m now twenty-six. This year has been incredibly eventful. What have I accomplished in the past year? I’ve found success as a decorator, makeup artist, teacher, lecturer, and, of course, as an artist. And I sold a painting!!! It was my still life with mulberries, remember it? Last year I wore too many hats, and I hope I’ll wear even more now šŸ˜Ž #mycreativelife #artistsofinstagram #exhibitions #festivals #tbilisi

«Home» 21,7 x 17 cm including frame; cardboard, oil pastels «Towards adventure» 20,2 x 16 cm including frame; cardboard, oil pastels FOR SALE In moments of crisis, I feel confused and don't understand who I am, what I love, and how I see the world. Then I turn to my memories of what I was as a teenager, what I was as a child, and I find answers. In various forms, naive style regularly appears in my art. These works were created during my art block. I drew on the spontaneity, freedom, and joy with which I drew houses, the sun, and the sea as a child. I believe that creating art is impossible without that bright and sensitive part of our soul that opens within us in childhood. #naiveartist #oilpastelsart #primitivism #contemporyart #tbilisiart

Part 1. About exhibition and artists OSTARA REBIRTH - an exhibition exploring the process of growing up and transforming childhood fears. This is a dialogue with the viewer through visual art about monsters under the bed, childhood fears, and overcoming them. The exhibition will take place in the space of a former kindergarten, where the space itself is imbued with childhood fears and the history of growing up. We'll open the doors to childhood for you on the day of the Spring Equinox festival. This time there were so many participants that the format of one post became too cramped for us. We're splitting the presentation into two stages: this will allow us to get to know each artist without haste and excess informational noise. Ā«MummersĀ», 42 x 60 cm, linocut ON SALE My three party personalities: an imposing devil, a creepy old woman, and a mysterious goat. These are the most popular costumes for mummers. Mummery are a carnival practice with pagan roots, common among Germanic, Slavic, and Caucasian ethnic groups. Mummers disguised themselves beyond recognition with makeup and funny costumes so they could make noise, fool around, and prank their neighbors with impunity. In return, they received many treats and gifts, as they symbolized evil spirits or the souls of ancestors, and were treated with caution and honor. Among the Slavs, mummers always accompanied all weddings, and winter and spring celebrations, but they also sometimes performed during summer and autumn harvest festivals and even funerals. When I was little, my friends and I went caroling every year on New Year’s and Maslenitsa. It was always a bitterly frosty day, but we had fun and walked half the city. People didn’t always open doors for us, and sometimes they were rude, but many listened to our songs and gave us money, candy, and fruit. Swipe to see the process in reverse, including rolling paint, cutting, and the original sketch. #engraving #graphicart #printmakingart #linocut #linocutprint

Ā«NorilskĀ», 30x42 cm, linocut ON SALE The engraving is based on a photograph taken during my last trip to my hometown. In winter, it’s a polar night, with extreme cold and storms, and huge snowdrifts. But it’s precisely this aesthetic that I associate with New Year and magic. Trees covered in frost, the crunch of snow, and the howling of the wind in the darkness — it’s in this atmosphere that fairy tales thrive and miracles happen. Swipe to see the process in reverse order. The last slide is the original photo that inspired this engraving. #engraving #graphicart #printmakingart #linocut #linocutprint

October 2 // 20:30 // TBILISI // Thursday Open Studio by RUBEZH @rubeeeeeeezh šŸ“TBILISI: The Public Atelier for Artists [By RUBEZH] // Aghmashenebeli 95a Entrance: free donation Every week RUBEZH hosts informal artist talks — a chance to meet artists, share experiences, and speak freely. Anyone can be a speaker, regardless of background or titles. The format is open — the artist chooses what and how to share. This week’s speakers: 🄷 Veronika Deviativalnaia @deviatival Engraver, graphic artist and painter from St. Petersburg. I’m tired of academic dogmas and social stereotypes, and I’m deliberately trying to do something new and wrong. I love unusual materials, taboo topics, complex concepts, provocative images. I put personal principles into my paintings, I dream of making people kinder and smarter through rebellion, punk and sabotage. 🄷 Mari Kutuzova @mmio.re My practice is situated at the intersection of the real and the imaginary. I address themes of instability and crises that lead to a rethinking of values and norms and affect the perception of the world and the self. #artisttalk #artisttbilisi

Ā«Storm is comingĀ» This is my favorite painting of the year. As usual, I made spots on cardboard with leftover paint and let it dry. Just for fun, I placed this purple-brown rectangle on an old, broken frame I got for free at the frame store. I fell in love with it at first sight. I don’t needed to add anything to these random spots; it’s a complete, dark landscape. It draws the viewer in. I feel the dew on the grass, the ripples on the water, the gust of wind, the thick air with the scent of ozone, the heavy, oppressive sky, the thunder in the distance. Now this is my favorite painting, and it’s not for sale. If someone else had painted it, I would have bought it myself. #brightpainting #acrylicpainting #skypainting #įƒ›įƒ®įƒįƒ¢įƒ•įƒ įƒįƒ‘įƒ #paletteknifepainting #modernimpressionism #artstagram #contemporaryart #landscapepainting

Ā«Sunset LakeĀ», acrylic, cardboard. Framed with glass and passe-partout. FOR SALE In this artwork, I first tried what I called "associative painting based on the color wheel." This method was recommended to me by an experienced artist. When he painted with oil or acrylic, he would wipe the palette knife with paint on a piece of cardboard, which he always kept on hand, to prevent any excess paint from drying in vain. The cardboard would become covered in spots of different colors and shapes. He would look at them and use his imagination, trying to figure out what they reminded him of. In this way, he created many small paintings of fields, mountains, and skies. I tried this technique for the first time. I immediately saw a fiery sunset over calm, dark water. I was shocked! I had no idea I could paint LIKE THIS. This is also my first painting with a palette knife. I felt a great sense of pride. I consider this my little masterpiece. It is filled with such expression, beauty, and life. This landscape never existed before. But it was born from my pure imagination and inspiration. #brightpainting #acrylicpainting #skypainting #įƒ›įƒ®įƒįƒ¢įƒ•įƒ įƒįƒ‘įƒ #paletteknifepainting #modernimpressionism #artstagram #contemporaryart #landscapepainting

Ā«NovemberĀ», acrylic, cardboard. Framed with glass and passe-partout. FOR SALE I absolutely love the fall. I'm so delighted by the bright yellow leaves everywhere, the coolness, and the mystery of this time of year. I love nature with all my heart, and walks through my favourite autumn garden make me feel like I want to live. BTW I’m so excited about painting with a palette knife, pure creativity! #brightpainting #acrylicpainting #autumnpainting #fallpainting #paletteknifepainting #modernimpressionism #artstagram #contemporaryart #landscapepainting
