Living with this recent work from Belgian artist Alain Biltereyst got me thinking about the lively past shows of his paintings. We’ve been working together, collaborating and finding new audiences for his work for 14 years. I look forward to many more to come.
Here are shots of work from ‘Great Moments,’ his current solo show and views of some of his past projects at the gallery.
We’re open today from 12 - 5PM. Come by, see the show and pick up a catalog featuring the new work.

In ‘Great Moments,’ Alain Biltereyst has manifested another brilliant deliberation on the nature of contemporary abstraction, in this case distilled through his deeply personal lens of regenerated ubiquitous design. The result is a series of beautifully structured and formally exquisite painted jewels.
Come see for yourself! Gallery hours on Saturday from 12-5PM.

We’re opening ‘Great Moments’ today, Alain Biltereyst’s third solo show with the gallery — here is one of the new paintings included in the installation. The conversation between his large-scale photographs of incidental design and the paintings they face makes this one of the best opportunities we’ve had to reveal the contextual framework of an artist’s practice.
Come see for yourself today from 3 - 5PM @devening_projects . Larissa Borteh opens ‘In the Wind’ in the adjacent gallery.

Alain Biltereyst has been documenting the understated elegance of pedestrian design for years; his photographs often serving as evidence of his love of the accidental formal and geometric wonders embedded in the everyday world.
We are delighted to present 14 large-scale photographs from this body of work alongside a series of new paintings. This beautifully produced 36-page catalog will also be available at the opening.
Please join us on Sunday, May 3, from 3–5 PM. We look forward to welcoming you.

A little preview of the installation for ‘Great Moments,’ Belgian artist Alain Biltereyst’s third solo show with @devening_projects
“The title ‘Great Moments’ invites interpretation through multiple lenses. On its surface, it suggests an artist’s quiet effort to elevate modest source material, imbuing the ordinary with a sense of significance. Viewed more ironically, it gestures toward the precarious and often diminished notion of “greatness” in our current moment. It is within this tension—between sincerity and skepticism—that the works in this exhibition find their voice, engaging in a dialogue that reflects both aspiration and uncertainty.”
The show opens on May 3 from 3 - 5PM and features a new photo edition project (pictured) and recent paintings.
