This Sunday, Pastor Devan is going to share the most consequential piece of his story through a special message titled, “Lessons From My Thorn”. 2000 years ago, the Saturday following Jesus’ death felt heavy, bleak, hopeless and lost. Yet what the disciples couldn’t see was Jesus shaking up the grave ready to run out and drag us along with Him. Because Sunday is coming! Because Jesus is alive! This year NPFCC will host four "Encounter Nights" which will blend music, scripture, prayer, teaching, and words of encouragement together to set the table for practicing the presence of God. Our first night is this Thursday, February 5th from 7-8:30p Childcare is not available for this evening but we're trying to arrange it for the other nights this year. This event will be hosted at our church in the main Auditorium: Newbury Park First Christian Church 801 Knollwood Dr. Newbury Park, CA 91320 npfcc.org Please bring a bible with you and come ready to participate, not simply "watch". We'll be leaning into the opportunity we have to practice communal and Spirit-led worship that a typical Sunday morning isn't well suited for. So you're invited to come forward with a word of encouragement, prayer, or scripture that's on your heart for the purpose of building up the body. Our band won't use tracks or clicks, will be stripped down without a full drum kit, and will focus on freedom to quickly respond to the Spirit's prompting. These nights won't be filmed or recorded in any way so what happens in the room, stays in the room. We want to be fully present to the Spirit and each other with no concern about how it will be leveraged or viewed later. We hope you can make it!
