2000 years ago, the Saturday following Jesus’ death felt heavy, bleak, hopeless and lost. Yet what the disciples couldn’t see was Jesus shaking up the grave ready to run out and drag us along with Him. Because Sunday is coming! Because Jesus is alive! Because Friday was not the end, it was the turning point. The pivotal moment that our sins were washed clean and grace was poured out on us because Jesus took the wrath. So celebrate Sunday coming! God your name is Emmanuel, it means God with us. It means you came to save your people from their sins. You came down and fulfilled every ounce of your purpose, to renew your creation to yourself that we may be with you and you with us. Son of Heaven, Jesus, we sing your name. We cry out save us Lord! Give us a new heart, a new mind and eyes to see as you see. Save us Jesus from our torment, our bondage to sin, from the things we keep coming back to because we can’t find a way to say you are enough. There is a difference between living as a believer in Jesus and living as a disciple of Jesus. Between knowing Jesus on a peripheral and integrating Jesus in to your every thought, action, way of living to become more and more like Him. Living as a disciple of Jesus brings with it understanding of the immense power of speaking the name of Jesus. Of calling on the Holy Spirit within us, the same Holy Spirit within Jesus for help in fighting our battles, overcoming fear and breaking chains of sin. No matter what you’re going through, as you live integrating Jesus into your life, remember that in His mighty name, all power of fear and darkness must go. One of the greatest traps of the enemy is to keep us chained to the grave of our past sins and failures. He whispers lies, reminding us of every mistake, convincing us that we are unworthy of God’s love and incapable of moving forward. Yet, the truth of the gospel proclaims something radically different: in Christ, we are no longer defined by our past but by the life He has called us to.s. As believers, we are called to a life of transformation- into the life and purpose God has set before us. But how easy it is to become ensnared by the memories, regrets, and failures of days gone by. At times, we may feel as though our past is like a grave that pulls us back, anchoring us in a place of defeat, guilt, or unfulfilled dreams. But God calls us to something greater. Jesus did not call us to look back with longing or regret. He called us to follow Him, to be transformed, and to walk in the light of His kingdom. If we let the grave pull us back, we miss the opportunity to live fully in the life He has prepared for us. ✝️ “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:13-14 ✝️ “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). May our hearts fully surrender, putting aside ourselves to proclaim our need for Him. 🌿✨ Abide in Him ✨🌿 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
— John 15:4 To abide means to remain without fading, to stay connected, to act in accordance. Jesus compares remaining steadfast in Him to a branch that can only thrive when it is connected to the vine. Without the vine, the branch cannot bear fruit, and so it is with us. We are the branches; Jesus is the vine. Only by staying connected to Him do we see the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. In the days ahead, living in accordance with Jesus—His way, truth, and life—will be our only anchor. The world may sway us with distractions, emotions, and struggles, but remaining connected to the Vine keeps us rooted in hope. In Jesus, our hope is secure and eternal. Without Him, we can do nothing. But in Him, we find strength, peace, and the promise of eternal life. Let His Word dwell in your heart—it is the foundation of true, lasting growth. 🌱✨ “Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. When my buddy @lucdimarzio introduced me to the song #LivingGod by @redrocksworship a few weeks back, the Bridge immediately captivated me— DEATH WAS NEVER GONNA HOLD YOU SO IT’S NEVER GONNA HOLD ME ‘CAUSE YOU’RE THE ONLY THING HOLDING ON TO ME What immediately came to mind was Romans 7:24, an often overlooked passage that draws out an image people living in Rome in Paul’s day would have known well. This “BODY OF DEATH” that Paul references is a sadistic form of capital punishment Rome gave to select murderers. Paul uses this image to remind us that sin poisons us in a very similar way. Jesus we surrender to you. Knowing how you gave your all for us, how you stayed on the cross so we can come into eternity in your kingdom - how can we not give you all that we are?
