🥳 First recap of the first six LOTLabs of spring 2026 ✨
This spring the LOTLab grew and spread through disciplines and inspired people from different backgrounds, bringing them together to get creative.
We started with experiments between chaos and order, cooked and eat, draw intuitively, explored the next steps of the Light Lab, created poetry, welcomed spring and embodied the moment of falling!
A big thank you to our hosts @desisuave , @the.nilyx , @willops and @king___irl , @erfanthejoyful@ri.grin and @laura.illoldi for sharing and guiding!
And thanks a lot to the curious audience to be open for experiments and enjoy this creative free space.

A new creative season has started at Das LOT 💥
And with it — some new faces full of energy, ideas, and way too many coffee cups ☕
From visual thinkers to light designers, sound technicians and event production — everyone brings a different perspective into the space.
Together we explore how art, technology and performance can meet: building visuals and projections, shaping light and sound, supporting concerts and events, and experimenting with new forms of storytelling.
This year we’re ready to create, experiment, learn from each other and maybe get a little messy in the process — because that’s often where the most interesting ideas emerge. 💭

In this LOTLab host Desislava Petrova invites you to use physical theater as a powerful tool to investigate the concepts of chaos and its counterpart - order. Through repetition, you’ll explore how our bodies modify space by moving through it.
Starting from the tele-theatre piece QUAD, conceived by Samuel Beckett in 1982, you’ll work on rhythmic ensemble movement to create a trance-inducing experience - not based on language, but on physical theatre and on how bodies communicate better than any words ever could.
Participation is active: everyone who joins will be an engaged player in a guided process focused on developing attention, collective listening, spatial awareness, and an enhanced sensitivity beyond everyday perception. The Lab concludes in specific work on QUAD, reenacting its simple-looking trajectory of the square while observing the multiple effects on the human psyche and multi-layered meanings and interpretations embedded in it.
No previous theatre or music experience is required, but the willingness to move, challenge yourself, and remain open are essential to ensure a harmoniously chaotic experience!

OPENLOT is about opening up…to yourself, to others, to the unexpected. Letting go of inner censorship, hesitations and the boundaries that usually tell you “not yet” or “not like this.” ✂️🪩
At OPENLOT it’s simple: if you have an idea, or something you want to try out - alone or together - you just write it on the SCHEDULE and it begins to exist. Think with your hands. Anything can happen, nothing must — just like our spontaneous jam circle last week 🙌
Two more weeks have passed and the space keeps transforming in an instant: sharing practices, hosting workshops, circus training, dance rehearsals, media playground, collective building, surprising encounters. The room starts to breath from the moment you spend your time in it.
You can still join anytime until 14.02. There are Daily check-ins at 13:00 a mini-festival & sharings in the afternoon.The space is yours. Bring time and curiosity. ✨

Can a mask be a bridge instead of a wall?
This Wednesday at @das.lot the afternoon begins with a shared exploration.
We start at 2 PM with an Open Theater Lab led by @desisuave —a space to prepare the body and the creative energy of the room.
Following the lab, I will present my video performance: Sorgiva.
Sorgiva is an auto-ethnography of pain and rebirth.
By using fabrics from my childhood home—sheets and curtains that witnessed my growth—I’ve added a layer of psychogenealogy to the ritual. I am not just wearing a mask; I am wearing my roots, to acknowledge them and then transmute them.
I became a vessel for the 'ghosts' of my land, Salento, walking through the silence of dying olive trees to the eventual surrender of the sea. It is an act of losing one’s face to find one’s soul.
The screening will be followed by a deep conversation. Together, we will explore the role of ritual and the healing power of the mask: how can 'disappearing' behind a ritual object help us liberate our true identity?
