🏆 Our exhibition “Exploring Biomaterials in Textile Applications” was awarded Best of Event at DesignTO 🏆 Our goal was simple: make sustainable making accessible! We wanted to show that everyone can play a role in the circular economy and take action against climate change. By introducing alternatives to single-use plastics, we’re reimagining how design can work with nature.. empowering people with the confidence to think: “I can do this too!”💡 Because that’s how a circular future takes shape ♻️ Thank you @designtofestival @erkmu #DesignTO #Biomaterials #CircularDesign #Sustainability

IT TAKES A VILLAGE and being featured on @globalnewsto ’s Making A Difference is such a reminder of that. Thank you Susan Hay for decades of reporting good news stories. We are endlessly grateful for all the “villagers” we had the privilege of doing life and work with (you know who you are) .. we’re just getting started! ✨ 🎥 link in bio #circulareconomy #designforsocialimpact @ocaduniversity @cadillac_fairview @cftoeatoncentre

Meet us by the fountain ⛲️ and walk with us 🚶🏻‍♀️ 👋 hello.. meet Jenn, our walk leader. She’s an industrial designer focused on rethinking how public and “third” spaces can better support meaningful human connection. Her research explores the growing experience of loneliness in an increasingly digital world, with a particular sensitivity to the needs of introverts. Through her graduate thesis, she investigated how design can gently encourage organic social interaction—creating environments and objects that invite conversation without pressure. 📍 May 2 at 11am

“I wanted to create a playful yet aesthetically pleasing lamp body that is designed to be disassembled and paid homage to the Jane’s walk logo as well as their mission of starting conversations.” Designed by @zankmenard

This Earth Day, we celebrated sustainability in full circle incorporating upcycled banners that once surrounded our park - now transformed into handcrafted flowerpots by our community. 🪴🌸 A reminder that small, creative choices can make a lasting impact. 🌎 Thank you to @designwith.ca & @freshfloralcreations for bringing this vision to life. #CIBCSQUARE #EarthDay #Sustainability #Upcycled #Community

🚶 FEATURED JANE’S WALK with DESIGNwith Meet Us By The Fountain 🗓 Saturday, May 2 ⏰ 11:00 AM–12:00 PM 👤 Led by Jennifer An, Ranee Lee, DESIGNwith Our walk explores the mall as the most accessible “third space” where social connections are made and the local economy is supported. It also considers how malls operate as semi-public environments within the planning framework, accommodating a range of everyday uses beyond retail—informal gathering, passive recreation, and routine social interaction. Their extended hours, weather protection, and central locations make them particularly accessible for groups that may face barriers in other public spaces. This walk looks at how design, ownership, and management shape who uses these spaces and how. 📍 Start: CF Toronto Eaton Centre (fountain, inside the mall) 🏁 End: CF Toronto Eaton Centre (fountain, inside the mall) Free. Open to all. #JanesWalk #OurStreetsOurStories #Toronto #UrbanPlanning #CityBuilding #PublicSpace

It’s always a pleasure partnering with the team at @cibcsquare for Earth Day 🌿 This year, their retired banners were thoughtfully repurposed into beautiful pots ➡️ swipe to see the design process of transforming banners into functional pieces ➡️ @freshfloralcreations then brought them to life with vibrant floral installations full of colour and texture 🌸 These potted plants will be gifted to CIBC SQUARE tenants as a way to celebrate Earth Day and give new life to materials that would have otherwise gone to waste ♻️🌸
