DEVIL WEARS PRADA 3/ Andy goofs and doesn’t record last-ever interview with Miranda Priestly but then instead just recreates it from memory because devices are deeply troubling anyway! *Except when used for taking photos of spring

Lo and behold, I unearthed enough certified seasonal bangers to justify a landmark seventh (!) edition of my annual advent playlist collecting the best in sadboy indie carols, twangy country Christmas ballads, and even a punch-fueled festive dance floor anthem or two. (But still no Mariah. There’s enough Mariah going on in the grocery store.) Starting tomorrow through December 26, I’ll post one song a day in my Stories along with some short background commentary. Christmas can be happy, Christmas can be sad (basically, “The Holdovers”) and we’re here to honour it all. Hopefully at a time when algorithms serve up most of our musical discoveries, this obsessively ordered selection will take you back to an era of mix tapes that captured a personal point of view. Check back tomorrow for the first song and in the meantime, you can find links to all six previous editions in their entirety at erkmu.com/advent (link in bio). Happy holidays!
