@theironsband is out today. A true masterpiece of an album from the brilliant eccentric mind of
@haydenhavard , who trusted me with executing his vision for the cover art.
Hayden himself hardly appears on this record—instead enlisting the musical stylings of
@juanwautersofficial and a ragtag bunch of Austin musicians (including friend of the show
@robbyspittle ) to perform his compositions—so it’s fitting that we drew inspiration from Willy Wonka & The Sound of Music, as Hayden’s work here more closely resembles that of a film director than a record producer.
It’s a truly magical half hour of music, rich with fantastical imagery and endearing childlike whimsy. It was a lot of fun to follow Hayden’s lead in creating this cover, always a joy to work with an artist who’s willing to go to the ends of the earth (or to Uruguay, in this case) for their craft.
