Covilhã (Portugal) and the Spanish UNESCO Cities of Design, Bilbao and València, are taking part in the 1st European Meeting of UNESCO Creative Cities in Burgos this week, reinforcing collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a shared commitment to design-driven urban innovation.
Bilbao Bizkaia Design Week 2025 begins, from 20 to 28 November!
We celebrate the opening of Bilbao Bizkaia Design Week, running until 28 November, with this year’s theme: Biotik Design. From Emergency to Regeneration
This edition proposes a powerful paradigm shift: moving from design as a tool for consumption towards design as a force that sustains, restores and facilitates life. In the face of an unprecedented eco-social crisis, sustainability is no longer enough, regeneration has become urgent. We cannot maintain human activity without first healing, restoring and revitalising the ecosystems, human and natural, upon which we depend.
Bilbao Bizkaia invites us to imagine and build fertile futures: to work from interdependence, to activate processes that care for and repair our environment, and to turn today’s emergencies into a collective commitment that drives action and regenerative change.
