Today is the final day of competition. This evening teams will cross the finish line for the last time in the 10th Annual Rebelle Rally. This morning the team continues collecting checkpoints in the dunes and later they will start their transit back to base camp 3 and the FINISH LINE. An unbelievable day 5 started with a double rainbow over Ridgecrest, a quiet moment before the storm. Competitors knew the rain was coming, and it didn’t disappoint. By midday, basecamp was drenched—tents collapsed, puddles everywhere, and the desert turned to mud. Watching from home, many of us wondered if we could have handled it. But the teams rolled back in from the 242 km stage through Dove Springs and Spangler in great spirits, laughing and feeling good about the day. It was the first rainy Rebelle Rally day in ten years—and one that won’t be forgotten.
