Here's a peak at the Gundam TCG deck I was gifted after yesterday's session where the super awesome (and patient!) Bandai @gundam_tcg team walked us through the game ahead of it's release in July. Have you got any desk on pre-order? Are you planning on giving this TCG a shot? As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I'm not much of a TCG guy. My experience amounts to Pokémon back in the day before our school banned it, Yu-Gi-Oh battles in my secondary school library and collecting Magic The Gathering because the artwork looked dark and edgy. So I'm very much a modern TCG noob. Despite that, I had a blast playing this, and there's a veerrryyy strong chance I'll be grabbing a few decks when the first batch gets released in July. The game was simple to pick up and was fun to play (even for someone like myself who doesn't play any modern TCGs), the artwork is cool and honestly, I can see us playing this quite a lot in our Backloggers Gundam community. Our Build days could morph into Build & Battle days! I was also able to add another event exclusive card to my collection with this Relena to go along with the EX Base card I got from attending the GQuuuuuux movie premier in London. What a day! Proper buzzing from it all still. So today, I had the privilege of having the most Gundam filled day I've had in a very, very long time, and that's courtesy of @bandai_hobby_uk ❤️ So MCM is upon us, and Bandai kindly invited me along for a whole morning filled with geeky greatness. So, first up, I got put the kit I built for the Gunpla Builds World Cup just gone in a display at their booth. If you go there this weekend, you'll be able to see my kit, a bunch of other community kits, and the GBWC UK winners! So yeah, that's a thing, and it's mad my kit is on display at MCM alongside them! After that wildness, I got to check out the upcoming Gundam TCG game - learn the rules and play a few games using a sample deck. I've not played a TCG since Yu-Gi-Oh waaay back in the day, but I can definitely see myself picking this up when it comes out. After that, a bunch of us were invited to take part in a Gunpla-Kun customisation contest on a very tight time frame, which was amazing chaotic fun. It's such a cool idea and a right laugh. I somehow managed to come third and netted myself an awesome kit as a prize! There's been so many amazing parts to today, and honestly, the community is what makes stuff like this fun. We had a record number of UK submissions this year and the quality from everyone was incredibly high resulting in some incredibly tight judging! Congratulations to all and we can’t wait to see what you are all capable of next year.

The time has come to reveal our winners for the Rivals Corner GBWC Sub Divisional! 🏆 First of all thank you to everyone who entered. We had 50(!) incredible submissions and the level of work put into every piece was amazing to see. Choosing our top 3 was INCREDIBLY tough! (Ain't you all just a talented bunch, eh?!) 🎨 However one winner had to be chosen so a massive congratulations to @gunplaszuler for their stunning entry titled, 'Dawn of Zeon'🥇✨. It was a unanimous decision between all judges, impressing us all with the craft, story and execution of the piece. But also massive congratulations to our 2nd place, @jcx.gunpla with the entry titled 'A Cosmic Performance' 🥈 and 3rd place winner @derelictpixies_creatorium with their entry titled 'The Crimson Wastes' 🥉. Both of these also blew us away and your unique takes with Gunpla. We'll be contacting the winners directly via email (check that spam!) as well as DM'ing with details. We had a lot of fun being part of this amazing competition so thank you again for all your amazing work, dedication and effort that everyone put into this, helping the UK community grow the presence of Gunpla to all.
