Meet recap: GRAND PRIX - APA - Strength Club (LONG TIME COMING) It’s been 2 years and 9 months since my last local meet. Since getting married, too many life events kicking my ass and the birth of my daughter, PL had taken a back seat. Training was scattered at best and although I wanted to get back to the platform, thought my best days were behind me. Despite this, locked in Grand Prix as a “dip my toes” meet to test the water, not expecting anything major. And how did I feel on the day? At peace and calm. I knew I was back where I needed to be. Plan going in was to sub max squat and bench in case i needed to send deads. Squat - 230kg (+2.5kg) Very comfortable third with room in the tank. Last time i did 227.5 in comp, it was a GRIND. Bench - 147.5kg (+7.5) Again, very chill third. One day i’ll learn not to clip the rack.. Deads- 290kg (-2.5 BUT stiff bar pr). Last time i did 292.5 it was on a deadlift bar and an absolute max out. This time 290 flew on a stiff bar (and if pushed, a bit more room to spare!) Total: 667.5 (+7.5kg) 1st place U120 Thank you to @strengthclubperth @australianpowerliftingalliance for the amazing meet. @jacobsofianos for the socks.. 😂 @coach.vinh for everything you’ve put up with @coliwrath for the battle. Legit came down to bodyweight @ everyone else who was there and had kind words. Love you all Not done. Still hungry. Apparently, just getting started (again)

My body hurts but i want to carry on building some momentum post comp. We use that as a training day and move forward. Set 1 160x4 @ 3? Also, i’m back posting?

APA States - u120 🥈 I could write a couple of paragraphs of excuses as to why but ultimately, just wasn’t there on the day. I turned up and tried my hardest and that’s all that mattered. Thank you to @coach.vinh for being the king, @smart_strength_pl for assisting on game day, @jacobsofianos and @strengthclubperth for putting on another spectacular meet Now into hibernation again and to fix my bones

Not trained in 3 weeks and been, essentially, bed bound for the last 2. My life has been completely upended by the worst thing i’ve ever experienced. But, The fire has been lit. I refuse to let this year beat me. This is for her. This is for them. This is for me. 12 weeks out.
