Our “In Bloom” series showcases remarkable women who continue to change the landscape of the music industry with their commitment and achievements.
Dellessa James is the Senior Artist Relations Manager at Amazon Music. In this role, Dellessa leads Amazon Music’s Black music strategy, overseeing playlists and content creation for the +44 channels and playlists, as well as working alongside artists and labels to execute large scale campaigns. Prior to joining Amazon, Dellessa was the executive producer of The Rap Show and Fire in the Booth, Europe’s biggest freestyle platform. During her tenure she produced freestyles from artists such as Drake, Stormzy, Megan Thee Stallion, and Wretch 32. Dellessa also spent 16 years working at BBC radio, producing shows for Trevor Nelson, Annie Mac, DJ Target, Nihal, MistaJam, Jo Whiley, Fabio and Grooverider, championing Black music across Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
