THE VIRAL SEAFOOD BOIL CRAZE CONTINUES AS SEAFOOD CITY TURNS 2 WITH DOUBLE THE PRAWNS AND DOUBLE THE FLAVOUR
Seafood boil restaurant that went viral and got everyone talking when it opened its doors two years ago is giving Brummie’s the chance to net a lip-smacking deal to celebrate the second birthday.
Seafood City in the Arcadian broke the internet when it burst onto the scene in May 2024 serving the trending Cajun seafood boil which originates from the Deep South of the USA and uses a traditional cooking method to lock in the flavours of the sea. Diners quickly became hooked on the banging shellfish platter combined with the tangy Louisiana sauce.
Now founder, Oliver Ngo is thanking guests for their custom by serving up an exclusive birthday treat and inviting them to turn up, don the famous bib and get messy.
Customers will be pinching themselves when they are given double – yes double – helpings of prawns all day on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout May. Every prawn on the menu is doubled… platters, combos and add-ons.
Oliver said: “We took a leap of faith two years ago bringing the viral seafood boil trend to Birmingham and had no idea how popular it was going to be. The city went crazy for the concept and we had to turn 200 people away on the first weekend because we couldn’t keep up with demand.
“To mark two years of Seafood City, I wanted to go big. Picture a platter arriving with twice the king prawns – same garlic butter, same chilli hit, same price, just more of everything. Just us going a bit over the top because that’s what birthdays are for.”
Oliver is honouring 20 bookings per week throughout May on a first come, first served basis so guests will need to be quick to get your claws into this one-of-a kind treat.

A vibrant new dining destination is set to make its mark in Crookham Village, as an exciting modern Indian restaurant and bar prepares to open its doors in the former Exchequer pub.
Introducing Bhageecha – a bold, immersive concept already turning heads at its established location in Elstree, Borehamwood – now bringing its signature blend of contemporary Indian cuisine, innovative cocktails, and striking design to Hampshire.
Set to launch on 28th April 2026, the new venue promises to redefine the local dining scene, bringing a fresh, modern concept to a much-loved village location.
Bhageecha is far from your traditional Indian restaurant. Guests can expect beautifully curated spaces, from a lively marble-topped bar to intimate dining rooms and a floral-inspired conservatory, each with its own personality. For that extra special touch, there's a light-filled glass space that opens onto an outdoor terrace for the summer months.
At the heart of Bhageecha are founders Mishal and Sundeep Bhamra, whose deeply personal connection to food shapes every details of experience. “For us, food has always been about bringing families, friends and communities together, it’s how we celebrate life and share stories,” say Mishal and Sundeep.
The couple have created a lively bar area designed for socialising over premium drinks and Indian-inspired cocktails - which are as striking as they are inventive.

CELEBRATING REGINA'S 1ST BIRTHDAY IN STYLE
On Friday evening we celebrated Birmingham hotspot Regina’s Bar and Restaurant first Birthday and what an elegant evening it was!🥂
Known for its refined dining, vibrant atmosphere, and stylish décor, owners Jimmy Devollaj and Sabi Ukaj invited leading journalists, lifestyle and beauty influencers, and Birmingham personalities to mark the occasion.
The evening was brought to life with fire breathers, exceptional live entertainment, champagne and canapés all accompanied by an exclusive five-course tasting menu by Executive Chef Michael Edgar which was curated to perfection for the anniversary🍴🍾
Alongside the glamorous festivities, Regina’s also acknowledged that just down the road Birmingham Children’s Hospital carries out life-saving paediatric care to over 90,000 children every year. Throughout the evening, the bar and restaurant hosted a fundraiser for this worthy cause, raising a total of £820 to support the crucial work taking place in the heart of our city every day ❤️
