If we look at the core of the physical world we know, including ourselves, we find a composition of atoms.
Energy – electromagnetic energy, sound energy and quantum energy for example – determine their
arrangement by exchanging and interacting with them, forming structures and shapes.

Even tables sometimes require complex structural engineering. This beauty was conceived by architects and makers @woco_ltd for the dining area of a private residence in Salcombe, Devon, UK. The legs and base are cast aluminium and bronze respectively. We carried out form-finding studies to determine the optimal shape of the legs and their cross-section. The size of the table meant that its base had to be anchored into its own mini-foundation within the house ground floor! We carried out full 3D stress analysis to determine the durability of the materials involved. Crafted with precision, this stunning dining table is a true fusion of design, engineering and making.
