My POV Meeting friends takes the sting out of everyday living. Sharing laughs, conversations over coffee, or simply just being with people who get you, is one of the easiest way to destress. @manjyotkaur3 @priyavish17 @artsyinkolkata #friendstime #togetherwithme #happinessisachoice #taketimeout #enjoythemoments

Would you go to a bar alone? I have pondered a few times, and I am happy to say that I have family and friends who like to enjoy a good thing or two. Have waited for people to come, gone to a hotel club while staying there; but alone bar. No! There always is a first time; May was the chosen month, Kolkata the chosen city and Nutcase the venue as it was hugely recommended by two very dear friends. Late evening, I stepped out with my book 😂 and no reservation but was lucky to get a table in the little room behind. The person serving recommended a cocktail, boy oh boy, did he get my instructions right (which were many). It was incredible. I was asked if someone was joining me and people did look at me when I sipped my drink alone. I think I manifested being seated at the bar and got a place (advantages of being 1 person). Super fun to watch the bartenders craft the cocktails and chatting with people sitting beside and at the bar! And the bbao delicious. It was not weird at all to be at this bar, solo! #goingsolo #cocktails @nutcase.etc #mylifemyway #happinessisachoice

Last week, a young person out of the blue said thank you to me, I was shocked and instinctively I asked “what did I do?” for most of them young folks not use polite language. It seems my work out routine was motivation enough for him to get back to working out. For me workout means Morning; there is a routine, a consistency, very few interruptions and I look forward to getting back home to my newspaper (yes, I still buy and read them), coffee and breakfast. It keeps me in a better frame of mind, happier, with more smiles that help deal with the day ahead! @harsh_butola_ #happinessproject #motivation #workout #fitfifties #mylifemyrules

My best friend Kimi’s son’s Indian wedding was one filled with so much of love. She and I have been in each other’s lives for decades, been to each other’s weddings, seen the children grow and now they are getting married. Was wonderful to meet Kevin & Lily, Neil and Neeraj & Kimi’s family & friends who came in from all parts of a world that was beginning to burn. What will stay with me (and a lot of others), is the beautiful speech Neil made, Kevin and Lily singing together and the graceful way in which Kimi made the wedding happen. Here is to my gorgeous friend Kimi🥂 @kimishaabi @srishtisworld thank you Rahul for patiently taking all our pictures Love, indian wedding, togetherness

The magical alignment of dance with music, is a lot to do with technical precision of the steps, timing and spatial awareness. Thank you @yadubhageria for these pictures from the recent performance. [Bharatanatyam dancers, movement, synchronicity, black&white]

A relatively small post; a performance that was special at so many different levels. @shreyasigopinath it was such a pleasure watching this production come to life. Kudos to the dedication of all the performers to brave the winter cold and come early in the morning for rehearsal. When Priya booked us into The Deck; I did not look it up. I also did not read about Junagarh because I wanted to be surprised. For me Junagarh was the place Parveen Babi was from, it was in Gujarat, land of the Gir lions. Happy I was to be with girls I have known now for half a century (sounds ancient). Surprised I was to see a place that had history, multi-religious pilgrimage sites, wildlife & architecture. Mount Girnar, with it Hindu and Jain temple, 10,000 steps (people climb these) and Asia’s longest ropeway. Uparkot Fort, looked down at the city while looking up at Mount Girnar. The Adi Kadi Vav, cut out of a gigantic piece of rock, whispered of nubile girls sacrificing themselves for water. Mahabat Maqbara, is such a crazy mix of Gothic-European-Islamic architecture, spiral minarets with staircases, stone carvings, onion domes and hordes of pigeons. There are boulders with Ashoka’s edict from 250 BCE on life, governance and morality. I did not go to see it. On the way back from Gir we saw a dhabaish looking place, which had tyres, swings and manjis. We sat on the swings ate freshly cooked delicious food with the aroma of woodsmoke. Somnath’s sparkling new temple is spectacular; however, a small temple built by AhilyaBai Holkar nearby, emanated energy that moved me to tears. It is the sort of thing that happens when I hear our national anthem. Weird! We stayed at The Deck, with its linked cottages, high ceilings and skylit bath space was tranquil and the quiet was only broken by a bunch of exceptionally talkative ladies, the call of peacocks and other birds, or the rustle of leaves by a family of blackbucks. The hospitality team was always there, soundlessly efficient. There was young khyatee who took in all the chatter, singing, running in different directions calmly and showed us her city. By the way, very early one morning, I was sipping coffee, when I heard a strange sound, more like a call. I had a vague recollection of the sound but could not place it. Alongside the sound was the insane chirping of birds. I was told that a lion walking by to the nearby watering hole. #junagarh #girforest #asiaticlion #mahabatmaqbara #classmates

50 seconds, not sure if it good, bad or average! Hanging in there requires a bit more of everything; patience, determination, mental strength, motivation and then some more. I am my strength, weakness and closest competitor. #motivation #focussed #believeinyou #gooddays #fitnesslife [mental health, work-life balance, happiness, core strength]
