This week Irie made a sample chain around the new release from @ballerbeatsmusic 🔥. They just dropped 3 crazy dope edits including this one from @suckaside .

This was a special moment! During the opening of the European Hip Hop Congress I got asked to DJ. And so I brought some hip hop, funk and soul 45’s thinking I would play some background music.
Before I knew it the whole crowd was looking at me expecting to see some shit. Luckily I had this edit of the 900 number with me (that I hardly ever play) and came up with a freestyle mini routine on the fly.

Op 25 april haalt Homebase een echte pionier in de Nederhop naar Groningen: niemand minder dan EXTINCE treedt die avond op in de FIXY.
Extince begon zijn carrière met Engelstalig werk, maar maakte half jaren 90 al gauw furore met Nederhopklassiekers als “Spraakwater” en “Kaal of Kammen”. Met zijn binnenlandse funk liet hij een onuitwisbare indruk achter op de Nederlandse hiphop. Niet voor niets is zijn werk momenteel dan ook te bewonderen in de Hip Hop Is tentoonstelling in het Groninger Museum. Hij doet deze avond samen met DJ DNS de FIXY en zoals bij elk Homebase event draait Deejay Irie de avond aan elkaar.

Homebase presents: MAZBOU Q (+ DEEJAY IRIE and more)
On Saturday, March 21, Homebase has an evening of international Hip Hop in store for you at @fixy.groningen . The program will be headlined by the technically gifted New Zealand-based rapper @mazbouq and will feature performances and DJ sets from @deejayirie and more.
Stemming from his background in classical music, heavy metal and West African Highlife, Mazbou Q's music pushes the boundaries of Hip Hop and captivates those with a deep appreciation for musicality. Taking inspiration from the likes of Fela Kuti, The Roots and Black Star, his lyrics are socially conscious and explore his unique cultural identity. Mazbou Q is also well-known for his detailed breakdowns of rap flows on social media.
