N finally, to PLO, it is hard to capture with words the way you made all of us collectively feel. That was simply one of the best nights on a dance floor in my life. I wish we could go back and rewind again and again. For now, I’ll dream to do it again someday. Xoxo.

It was Earth day last week and l just so happened to be with two of my favourite Earthlings that I felt like I had to shout them out. I always trip out on the influences that led me to who I am. The people who inspired me and moved me so deeply that I was never the same. I promise myself that I live to try and honour them and embody our shared values. One of my deepest inspirations is my friends Kate and Richard who own and manage @theearthcafenorman .
The year was 2003, I was more or less battered and broken, I had dropped out of college, underwent multiple surgeries, had two years of chronic pain, melancholy, and had lasting side effects from a Pharma drug (shoutouts to the pigs at Merck) that my “doctor” put me on at Cornell. I was pretty unhappy in Norman at the time. I was uninspired by the campus culture, the town, the frat people, the corporate influences all over the campus. As an athlete, I used to have anxiety that when I put on my uniform there were like 30 nike swooshes on me and I knew those uniforms were made by sweatshop labor. I felt really under stimulated and would often just retreat to books, and the few friends I grew up with that lived there.
My life started to change when I stumbled across this beautiful oasis of a grocery store delicious cafe and I started to build a sense community and family. Everyone there was always so kind, friendly and unique. They carry amazing local foods and the place always smells like hippies which makes me laugh and smile. It was within walking distance of my house and I walked there nearly every day. 20 years later and they’re still doing their thing. Still offering alternatives to the machine that weakens our communities and our connections to each other and life around us. Still giving people a space to expand their consciousness and connect with alternative points of view. Still giving the shirts off their backs for those around them. Still staying true to who they are.
Richard and Kate, I love you all so much and last weekend was such a treat. Thank you for welcoming me into your home and reminding me of some of the most cherished moments in my life.
Is it true that there is more “engagement” with selfies? Marketing is pretty lame, ya. A distorted idea of nature is created when life is treated as "the market." At any rate, I think we have an important message so I’ll try and play the algorithm game to see if we can reach a broader audience. Our company NeuX Technologies was recently featured on @ifixyoursciatica ‘s podcast via Dr. Ashley Mak. Ashley and I became acquainted living in the Bay Area. I admire the work he is doing. He is a former collegiate swimmer at Villanova and is thoughtful in his approach to health and wellness. In this podcast,
we cover our NXPro technology and what makes it different than conventional “e-stim” and other therapeutic modalities. This is a question we get nearly every day. I encourage you to check out the full interview if this sort of thing interests you. Education is really at the heart of what we are doing. Excited to celebrate our TOO KIND function 2 nite. I had a rough few years during the pandemmie where a lot of my friendships and relationships were strained. Somedays I felt like it might never end and we wouldn’t get back that euphoric feeling of us all being together on the dance floor in celebration of life and the music. These new friendships with these boys really saved my spirits and heart when I needed it the most. Hopefully, this party will give them the platform to share the music they love and continue to help us all build expansive relationships with one another. This is a very chill, “No Frills” type of vibe (shoutouts @reedbriefcase ). We plan to start early so pop over for a drink on your way to UGSF tonight.
