'The Gap – Winona, MN 2025' by Paul Stapp
'For the past several years I have been visiting the built environments of cities and towns, mostly in the Upper Midwest, where I observe their deterioration and alteration.'

'some nights i can’t sleep
In October 2013, I was returning from my first-ever portfolio review. I was excited and hopeful for the future and a project I was just beginning. It was the first time I had set my sights on attempting to assemble an expansive series of photographs.
I had put in some lightweight work and looked forward to a break. Plus, I have this annoying (to me) habit of going from November to March / April-ish and making no photographs. I enter some sort of photographic hibernation.
By the time April rolled around, I was ready to get back on the road.
Then, my wife discovered she was pregnant after Easter...'

'Tais-toi et sois belle - Solitude in White' by Aljohara Jeje
"Tais-toi et sois belle (French for ‘shut up and be pretty’) was the adage that shaped my upbringing. The expectation was clear: to become a woman, one must be pleasing and appeasing. My mother, adhering to this doctrine, taught me that I must always be prepared to smile so that others would find me agreeable. How I felt, was of no consequence. My emotions were irrelevant on the 'stage' of societal acceptance. I was to be seen, but never heard. My mother visibly shuddered whenever I attempted to voice my thoughts, reinforcing the boundaries of silence imposed upon me."

'Hills Shaped by Hand' by David Swainson
"Vietnam Huong Su Phi Rice Terraces
In the northern highlands of Vietnam, the journey into the mountains is gradual. Roads cut through stone, mist settles in the valleys, and people move quietly between villages and fields. The terraces are not isolated monuments; they are reached, worked, and lived within.
Rice terraces are both geography and livelihood. They hold water, memory, and labor. Paths cut through them connect villages, families, and daily routines. Children play at their edges. Farmers read the weather in the mist and the soil underfoot. Life here follows cycles older than borders or maps. The terraces are not scenery; they are lived spaces—worked, walked, rested upon. What appears quiet is sustained by constant effort and care."
'South Bruce' by Matt Low
"I photograph a wide range of subjects, but am most drawn to quiet observation of place. I keep compositions simple and try to stay true to the natural colours and feel of a place. I'm always amazed by the impact of seasonal patterns on familiar environments and institutions – shifting the mundane into something worth lingering over. Beneath these seasonal rhythms exists an enduring quality of renewal and the promise of return.
'South Bruce' explores the textures and colours unique to summer along the shoreline. From above, the meeting of water and land becomes painterly: sandy stretches dissolve into gradients of turquoise and green."
