This is my family’s favorite Night market to go to for food! I was definitely chompin’ here bc I had just gotten straight off the plane.
MUST TRYS:
- 沙拉船 （shālāchuǎn）8/10 ~ veggie/egg sandwich. This looks unassuming, but I promise you will not regret tryin’ this bad boy. The bread dough is almost like a donut, making it perfectly sweet & savory.
- 大腸包小腸 （dàchángbāoxǐaocháng） 8/10 ~ Taiwanese sausage wrapped in a sticky rice sausage. One of my favorite things to get when I go to Taipei! 📍Ningxia Night Market

To get this quality at $5 a burrito is insane.
It deserve a SUPER solid 7.5, bc even though the flavor profile is simple bc of the few ingredients, they definitely meet a very high standard of simplicity.

I sound like a broken record every time I go go a Taiwanese restaurant in the US and say “It’s better in Taiwan.” But this place shut me right up. Their food was honestly better than some of the places I’ve had back on the motherland. 🤤
It makes me so happy knowing there’s a place like this in my area. I cannot WAIT to take my family here so they get to experience this same joy.

Funny story, my first time here, I was just buying some fries bc i wasn’t too hungry, but the man in the front insisted that I absolutely had to try the chicken bc of how good it was. He gave me dumpling samples to try the sauces that I thought were just okay, but bc he was so charismatic, I caved and bought the chicken.
Little did I know, that first bite would change my life. He was absolutely standing on business when he told that I had to try it. Even though I wasn’t hungry, I ate all three pieces I bought.

I’m not a chicken salad or salad kinda gal, but the choices were either a $15 smoothie or a $15 protein bowl, so I chose the latter. I expected it to be mid, or at best a 6, but there was depth to this bowl.
You can tell they care about healthy food tasting good, rather than it just being a trendy health-kick place that throws avocado on top of everything. However, this is still a health-kick place that throws avocado on top of everything.
