The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) along with Sophie Buhai and Aurora James hosted an intimate cocktail, bringing together CFDA members, friends of the CFDA, and industry creatives for an evening celebrating connection and community at Gina Correll Aglietti’s beautiful Silver Lake home.
The gathering reflected a shared desire to strengthen relationships among designers who, while part of the same community, don’t often have the opportunity to connect in person in Los Angeles.

In Elegance in Suspension, I presents a series of women who occupy space with certainty while navigating environments that remain unresolved.
The figures —precisely rendered and meticulously styled in black-are fully realized and anchored.
In contrast, the interiors they inhabit are abstracted into soft tonal fields and modular forms, suggesting psychological rather than literal spaces. These rooms resist definition, functioning as emotional landscapes shaped by perception and memory.
The work examines the tension between control and openness, precision and ambiguity. Elegance emerges not as an aesthetic gesture, but as a sustained state of presence-one that holds its ground even as the world around it remains in flux.
In addition she painted live in the gallery guest who sat for a 10 minute portrait. I painted on paper with acrylic and ink .
It was exhilarating and so interactive .

🌟👗March has come and gone and it was one event after another. So many, I'm having trouble keeping up, but better late than never, is the feeling here! So, two weeks ago, Diamond Wish Fashion Week El Paseo wrapped up with the colorful and fun show by beloved local designer, Trina Turk @trinaturk ✨Gracious and charming, she took a picture with @debraeveryday and me before the show and then we headed in for it. Colorful and fun clothing on the models - the skimpy swimwear on the male models had a lot of us hooting (😂me, mostly!) all in good spirit. Events back in LA had hubby and me not attending all six days of fashion week, but ... there's always next year.
