This 13 year old (Aggie) “Miss Hannigan” from Adelaide is literally pinching herself right now. From Miss Lynne’s School of Dance at the Shedley Theatre to now.
This really is a dream come true. Thank you, @xroads_live for this bucket list opportunity and to John Frost who launched my career back in 2002. There’s a beautiful story to this, which I will share in time ❤️
But for now .. I need to say a big thank you to Luke Joslin for holding space for me and to my agent @linstenmanagement . We’ve had an incredible year together and none of this would have happened without you.
I feel incredibly blessed to be sharing this news 🙏❤️ #annie #misshannigan #musictheatre #castannouncement #aggie #easystreet
What happens when costumes get wet during Handa on Sydney Harbour? I had a #bts chat with our head of wardrobe on Phantom @jccostumier to talk about how the weather impacts our wardrobe department and how it affected their maintenance during the season. #phantom #costumedesign #wardrobe #musicaltheatre
Mother’s Day 2026 💕
A beautiful Sydney day. Walk along the river with Lulu followed by a glass of bubbles out in the backyard sun and a late lunch once the twins had finished work.
Sending love to all the Mums today but none more so than my own beautiful Mum, Irene Horn, whom I love more than life itself. I’m so blessed to have such wonderful women around me and I’m forever grateful that I got to be a Mum.
Thinking of all those still facing that long journey to motherhood and those who can’t be with their mums today 💖🙏🌹
Going through the camera roll. Found these little behind the scenes treasures. Glimpses into what we see from our perspective - waiting in the wings. Always looking from behind. Privy to the workings of the magic that happens because of our techs and crew #bts #sidestage #phantom #techcrew #musicaltheatre
Well here we are Closing night of Phantom on the Harbour. What an adventure it’s been. Two iconic shows in two years. I’d never have believed it. I’ve loved this company and this show. They’ve been warm and generous. Talent without ego or insecurity. Just good people doing great work.
Giry is a character of few words. But this is why I love the challenge. It’s not the words on the page that makes a character come to life, it’s what’s not written that breathes life into a role. And she’s been a great one to sink my teeth into. A great contrast to Hannigan.
I’ve been challenged in every way possible - from the sheer magnitude of that raked stage to belting out top B flats every night. Bolting up four flights of stairs in less than 30 seconds every night, while our gorgeous ensemble member, James, lifted my skirt and raced up the stairs behind me so I could make my final entrance. What a ‘behind the scenes’ reel that would have been!
There is so much that goes on. It’s sensory overload. A cast of 50 and many, many more behind the scenes, keeping the wheels turning. The bats, the possums, the party boats, the downpours. I’ve lived for it all!
But now, it’s time for a break. My body and mind are still somewhat stuck in 2024 when Annie was first announced. There has been no “normal life” since then. I get asked every day “what’s next?” Even that question is overwhelming. What is next? The twins are in year 12 and I want to be here while they complete their studies. We have their 18th birthday, along with their graduation and schoolies at the end of the year. It’s a big year for them and I want to be home for it all.
I’m so bloody grateful and so bloody tired. Thanks to everyone who has followed and been on this journey with me. You’re never too old, although you will become a bit more invisible with age. Even that feeling softens over time. It becomes less important.
Til the next adventure… whatever that may be. Time for one last cheers.
DK 🙏❤️
No show comes to an end without a six minute memory reel. Enjoy 😊🥳
Here’s part 2 of my sound series. This time I walk you through all the front of house audio from the #Phantom tower here at Handa on Sydney Harbour. #audio #frontofhouse #BTS #musictheatre SoundTechnology
Who’s this familiar face at my dressing room door? On the eve of our final show, Anthony Albanese @albomp popped backstage after the show to say hi to the cast and crew 🌹#phantom #primeminister #australia #musictheatre #backstage
I’ve been inundated with requests for some more behind the scenes footage, so I thought I’d pop a little teaser up from our wardrobe department. Come with me as I attend my second fitting for Mme Giry in Phantom of the Opera. Here our designers are discussing skirt lengths for both period and practicality. Our stage on the harbour is very raked, so too long can be a trip hazard! I only have the one costume in Phantom, but add a shawl and a feather for Masquerade. She’s one of the only characters that does not change her look throughout the show. She’s the constant in all the chaos around her. #wham #BTS #costumedesign #wardrobe #Phantom
FOLLOW UP BTS coming soon!
I’ll be sharing lots of behind the scenes footage in the lead up to our last weekend here at Handa. Firstly, my view before the Buquet entrance, up the four flights of stairs to the bridge. Epic. #Phantom #handa #bts #MmeGiry
