She’s a great tiny puppy and looking for a home. Her name is Virginia and she is about eight weeks old….. We are guessing Doxie x Chi x. ?. She’s happy, well behaved, loves dogs, and will stay small. She is available for adoption thru @pupswithoutborders . #alwaysrescue
5 weeks ago this boy was in the shelter paralyzed and starving. Thankfully the shelter didn’t immediately euthanize him. But finding a rescue willing to pull a frenchie with major medical is hard to do and rightfully so. But one rescue stepped up and wanted to help him. I wasn’t looking to add another foster but I couldn’t stand the thought of him waiting one more day when all he needed was a foster to say yes. He needed a yes and he deserved a yes after all he’s been through. I hope we can encourage more friends to say yes to fostering this year.
Thank you to the @thespayceproject who are such an incredible organization providing spay and neuters in most needed areas. They said yes to turbo and have said yes to several mommas and their babies lately! Please give them a follow and support the incredible work they do. Without them saying yes Turbo wouldn’t be here! 🥺

Today was something special.
Together with The SPAY[CE] Project, we were able to provide a
completely free spay & neuter clinic in Porterville, CA — an area
where help is needed most.
🐾 51 dogs spayed
🐾 51 families supported
🐾 100% free — fully funded by Sunny Bear Cares
But none of this happens without the people doing the real work on the ground.
A huge thank you to The SPAY[CE] Project for welcoming us in, for
trusting us to be part of this mission, and for creating the
opportunity for Sunny Bear Cares to sponsor and support a clinic like
this.
What your team is doing every day is real, impactful work — and we’re
incredibly grateful to stand alongside it.
This is how you break the cycle.
This is how you create real, lasting change.
To every family who showed up, every volunteer who gave their time,
and every partner who made this possible — thank you.
And to the dogs… this is just the beginning.
We’re not stopping here. 🐾

We are The Spayce Project.
We work in the High Desert of Southern California, where dogs are abandoned, left without care, and largely forgotten.
Rescues can’t keep up, shelters are full, and the cycle keeps going because the root problem - uncontrolled breeding in underserved communities - never gets addressed.
That’s why we exist.
We bring free clinics, provide direct care in the field, and treat them where they are.
Spay or neuter one dog. Prevent a hundred more.
🐾 We’re glad you found us. Share this post, follow along, or donate at the link in bio.
He made it out, even after being run over. We met Calder over a year and a half ago during one of the desert hoarding cases. He was only about 6 weeks old then (can you believe he used to be camera shy?) living out there with around 30–40 of his family members.
For a few months, we kept going back for The Spayce Project, bringing u-hauls full of food, shelters, and bedding, helping get everyone to and from spay/neuter, and eventually winterizing a trailer so they could stay warm and dry through winter.
It wasn’t an easy situation. We lost a lot of dogs we loved, to sudden sickness, and to people in the area who didn’t want them there.
But the team kept showing up. Through The Spayce Project, every dog was spayed/neutered, and about half of the family made it into homes. The other half are still being cared for on the property, with ongoing support from the Spayce Project.
Calder’s story almost didn’t make it. His original caretaker accidentally ran him over and said “he’ll be alright.” He wasn’t. He had a broken leg, and that’s when Jackie stepped up and adopted him.
Now we get to see him living the best life, safe and loved.
And even better, Jackie and Calder have become such a big part of helping other dogs. They’ve hosted events, gathered supplies, spread the word about The Spayce Project, helped us socialize other scared desert dogs, and supported more spay/neuters than we can even count.
These are the dogs The Spayce Project is helping. Some of the sweetest, most overlooked.
Today we’re really grateful for Jackie and Calder 🤍

These photos are 6 months apart, same dog.
Tigerlily is available for adoption. The first time we met Tigerlily, she was shut down, in the beginning stages of healing, and trying to disappear. This last time she was goofy, healthy, full-body wiggles, and so well trained!
Tigerlily came from Barstow, where she was barely surviving on her own as a stray puppy, she was reported multiple times before finally being picked up by animal control. She ended up in an under-resourced shelter, went days without medical care, and was quickly scheduled for euthanasia. Thanks to a few people who refused to let that be the end of her story, she made it out just in time.
She’s smart and eager to learn (her DNA explains a lot, part Staffy/Pittie heart, part Border Collie brain)
You can see how proud she is when she gets something right. She just wants to connect and understand.
She’s been waiting since she was just 5 months old… and she’s more than ready for her person to find her.
If you want a loyal, fun, ridiculously lovable dog, she’s your girl.
She’s 11 months old, 30 lbs.
Apply at hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt
Huge thank you to everyone who stepped in to save Tigerlily 🩶
@debfieldbloom@thespayceproject@sonja_woods22 + the Barstow community who spoke up for her and didn’t look away
@lisafantocone + family for giving her a safe place to land, showing her love for the first time, and healing her skin
@jumpfurjoytraining for fostering and training her now and helping her come out of her shell
@hitlivingfoundation for stepping in, taking her on, and making her recovery possible
It takes a village to do what we do. @babsberk has been a core part of our village from the very start and today is her birthday. Barb is the kind of person who always shows up. Her love for dogs runs deep, and her goodness to us (*and so many others) is real every day.
Happy birthday, Barbara Berkowitz. We’re lucky to know you. Xoxox

Rooster the rescue pig. We started fostering him a month ago and now he’s available for adoption.
He loves walks, grazing in yards, meeting people, going belly-up for scratches, and nudging your leg when he wants attention (or fruit).
2.5ish years old, 60 pounds.
If you’ve ever dreamed of having a pig who thinks he’s part dog, this might be your moment.
Currently in LA but he’s down for a roadtrip.
DM us. 🐷💕🐽
With only one vet in the entire El Centro area - dogs multiply much faster than the community can handle. Thanks to today’s clinic sponsor @thriveanimalrescue (🙏) we were able to go out to El Centro and help 58 dog owners break the cycle of unplanned litters. Our thanks is enormous @laacf818@northfigueroaanimalhospital@devonshire_cream_avocado@humanesocietyic and @obolpaws - as always, thank you for the goodies we were able to gift to thank the people for SHOWING UP - and be part of the solution 🙏🙏🙏 #spayandneuter #elcentro #dogrescue
