I signed up for Ironman Canada only a few days after Lake Placid, excited that I was finally running at my potential after months of suffering from a glute injury. But only days after signing up, my TT bike was deemed unsafe. Planning and tunnel vision towards D-Day melted away. I stopped focusing on "Ironman training" and began enjoying all my favorite things. My road bike came out of storage, and we did all my favorite climbs. My trail runners became my main distance shoes, and I spent hours climbing mountains and falling down technical descents (I have the scars to prove it).
One week before Ironman Canada, I got Lucy back. Now the dilemma was, do I actually want to race? Am I ready for it? I decided in the few days before IMC, I'd see how my body did with a road run, TT ride with race efforts, and a few long swims. The rest is history as I went full steam ahead into race weekend.
To find myself on the podium brings a new sense of joy. It's not disbelief or arrogance. It's a humble sense of reality. What it can be like if I get back to enjoying the things I love. What makes me smile. What makes powerful memories and only the healthy kind of pain. 😅
Just remember, it's okay if things don't go quite as planned. As long as you enjoy the journey, the result is yours and yours alone.
Ironman Canada - 3rd Professional Female - 1st Pro Podum 🥰
I am grateful. ❤️

Breaking the Tape at Galveston 70.3 😱🤯🔥 #IMTX703
I am full of so many emotions. But mostly, I'm proud of the hard work and dedication that held strong over the past few months. Life can be HARD. And as much as we care for ourselves, the body can decide not to play nice. I almost didn't race Sunday. And yet, with some tender love and care, I made it to the start line. I'm grateful for every moment. A swim that was not too painful as I kept it steady. Honestly, it was the calmest I've ever been in the water! I used so little energy as I tried to perseve the strained rib muscle that I had an explosion of energy running into T1. And, the bike is where I knew I'd shine. Hitting my first ever sub-2:20 in 56 miles, averaging over 24 mph. And while the run was not easy with endless stop&gos, twists&turns, and ups&downs, I managed to pull off the fastest OA female run time, too.
I need to give it to the volunteers on this run course. To all three 1st-3rd OA place bikers who cheered me on the ENTIRE way. 🙌😍 The 1st place pacer rode alongside me, yelling to everyone "here comes number one", "she's unstoppable", "she's so strong." My legs were cramping by the 3rd lap, so her encouragement meant the WORLD! ❤️
Breaking the tape is one thing. But the accomplishment of finishing this race strong, smiling, and healthy is what matters most. I'm feeling happy, grateful, and loved. ✌️
Thank you, everyone, for such an amazing day! Bring it 2023 race season.
Next big race: IM NICE @ironman_france Here comes one crazy committed Can-merican! 💪😎🇨🇦🇺🇲

4 weeks ago and I'm still in a bit of shock from Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Lahti, Finland 💕
2x AG World Champion 🏆 and I didn't even know it until I crossed the finish line. It was such an amazing field of women pushing women. 💪 While I had hoped for a faster swim, I made up for it with my second ever sub-2:20 bike split; burying my head deep to hold power against the wind into T2. And the run course was as challenging as any good trail run. A long ascent with some steep and rolling descents. I earned a half marathon PR at 1:25:22. I thought I was in 2nd place the entire second loop; crossing the finish with my ✌️ as I did at Iroman France. Only to find out I had won my AG by 20 seconds.
I keep reliving the wonderful day while preparing myself for the next big one. With Ironman World Championsion in Kona almost 3 weeks away now, it's about getting healthier both physically and mentally (still recovering from some breathing issues since SC 70.3). Building the confidence again for hopefully my best race yet. And my last race as an amatauer athlete. 🙃✌️ #LFG
It's nuts to think just last month I won OA Female at Birch Bay 15K and Fun with the Fuzz 5K run races.
It's also hard to comprehend that right now I should be in Chattanooga, ready to toe the line with an amazing group of women in the 70.3 on Sunday.
After being hit by a negligent driver who ran a red light just over 2 weeks ago, life looks a little different now.
Goals look like this. ✌️

Comfort is speed. The more comfortable you are, the longer you hold a position. The longer you hold a position, the faster you go.
In Episode 3 of The Comfort Lab, Women’s Comfort & Staying Aero, Deborah Eckhouse breaks down how fit, position, and saddle choice impact real performance over long distances.

This feeling. 🚴♀️🥰
5 months since I broke bones. I'm not going to sugar coat it, post crash PTSD is a real thing. I'm grateful for beautiful places, amazing sunsets, and riding companions who help me be a little braver every day. ❤️🥰
I had the pleasure of chatting with Andrew @jcob_cycling about women's comfort in cycling. It's a conversation not brought up enough.
No matter what saddle you ride or position you hold, it's important to be comfortable. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Saddle sores and muscle fatigue are real things for everyone of every gender.
Comfort = speed. 🙃

Hard. Hot. Beautiful.
Blood. Sweat. Mud.
Santa Barbara Nine Trails Race was everything you'd want in a challenge and more. The half distance of 17.5 miles climbed over 5,200ft of rocky, sun-exposed terrain. Those who did the full must be super human.
While I would've loved to train specifically for this race, it was probably the best, most memorable last-minute sign-up ever.
Worth every bruise. 🥰💕

What does one do with a single day off after working 7 days in a row?
Dumb shit with friends. 🥰🎄
Oh also, nearly 2 full weeks without a sling, and I've officially rode my bike 4x outside! 😍 #grateful
Happy holidays, everyone! ❤️
