Thanks to all who joined us on Friday night for “Frida, Diego, and the Day of the Dead,” a truly special and historic evening: the first-ever collaboration between Death of Classical, @historicgreenwood and @metopera ! We’re grateful for everyone who made this night possible, and we look forward to future collaborations! 🎤 @isabelleonardny @javier.arrey @vanessajuliamusic @nilswanderer 🗣 Librettist Nilo Cruz and Composer @gabrielalenafrank 🍹 @tobalanyc @curiouselixirs @pantalonestequila @zumbadortequila 🎵All of our incredible pre-show performers & crew that helped make this magical evening a success! 📸 @jbuschardt

Announcing our 2026 Catacombs Concerts! 💀🎶 To those sanctified many of the subterranean persuasion, we are positively ecstatic to unveil our 2026 Angel’s Share season in the Catacombs at The Green-Wood Cemetery, with two programs that feel tailor-made for underground reverie (and a skosh of crushing existentialism)! This season, we mark the 250th Anniversary of America's founding with two programs that interrogate the notion of legacy and collective memory: 📅 June 18-20 🎹 @PianistMinKwon returns to the Angel's Share with her powerful America/Beautiful project, offering a kaleidoscopic view of the shared American experience in all 250 years of its beauty and ugliness 📅 July 9-11 🎻 @PoiesisQuartet will juxtapose the haunting resignation of Beethoven's final quartet Op. 135 with Jeff Scott's Tapestry of the Beloved Beatified, a radiant reflection of what it means to truly be a revolutionary 📍@historicgreenwood Catacombs 🍷 Spirits tasting, non-alcoholic elixirs, complimentary snacks 🎟️ Secure your tickets at the link in bio!

We're #thrilledtoannounce our new brand identity: 🌈🦄 𝐿𝐼𝐹𝐸 𝒪𝐹 𝒞𝐿𝒜𝒮𝒮𝐼𝒞𝒜𝐿 🌈🦄 The world is scary enough these days, so we've decided to leave the Crypts, Catacombs and Cemeteries behind - going forward, we'll be shifting our concerts to exciting new venues like IKEA showrooms, Infant Daycare Centers, and the lobby of the WeWork in Hudson Yards! Our inaugural performances this April include a program of string trio arrangements of Jason Mraz's greatest hits, a 90-minute set of variations on Pharrell's "Happy" for solo Tuba, and an opera composed and directed by Timothée Chalamet.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for the world premiere of Jeff Beal's New York Études, Vol. II– it was incredibly special to open our 2026 Crypt Sessions season in honor of MS Awareness Month 💛 We'd like to extend an extra special thanks to... 🎶The singular @jeffbealmusic for two evenings of mesmerizing solo piano magic in the Crypt! (If you weren't able to join us in person, you can stream New York Études, Vol II., out now on @weareplatoon , wherever you get your music.) 🍷 🧀 Our incredible Food & Beverage sponsors @curiouselixirs @bouchaine @baldorfood @brooklyncured for keeping us happily be-sipped and be-snacked all night long 🎹 And to @steinwayandsons because it would have been tricky (even by our standards) to pull off a solo piano show without a beautiful Steinway piano! 📸 @jbuschardt

Passing notes with Beethoven on a Saturday night. This is @arielquartet performing Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131 inside a catacomb at The Green-Wood Cemetery. Stunning and expressive, the piece is considered by many (including Beethoven himself!) to be one of his finest works for a string quartet. Check it out: ▪️YouTube.com/AllArtsTV ▪️Produced with pals at @historicgreenwood + @deathofclassical

For our first Crypt Session of 2026, we're honored to welcome five-time EMMY® winning composer and pianist @jeffbealmusic , performing the world premiere of his deeply-personal New York Études, Vol. II for two nights only, March 26 & 27. Born out of Beal's experience of living with Multiple Sclerosis (March is MS Awareness month), these intimate piano works transform vulnerability into resilience, and uncertainty into grace. 📍 The Crypt under the Church of the Intercession 🗓 March 26 & 27 — MS Awareness Month 🎟 Tickets on sale now at link in bio
