Happy New Year's Eve! I usually do a year in review here of my cosplay! This year I got my first ever cosplay award, and then burned out. I put too much pressure on myself in an attempt to emulate an idealized image I had of a cosplayer, and it ended up just hurting me and others around me. It sucked, and I'm sorry. I sort of dropped out of the scene, and ultimately failed to post most of the photos I got this year even when I liked them. This is a reminder to be kind to yourself, create cosplay because it makes you happy, and to not hold yourself to unrealistic beauty standards. In a way, burnout has been positive - a break from cosplay was badly needed for me, and now I'm taking one. I've started drawing again and rediscovering other hobbies. At the end of the day, I'm deeply grateful for my friends, that I get to live in such a beautiful place, and all these opportunities. Let's get better and do better in 2025 💚 I love you. #cosplay

Angel Dust! This beautiful costume is exactly none of my work, it's @zales_starlight and @holygrailcosplay 's beautiful creation! Please check their work out!! Isn't the wig amazing?! I'm back! I was absent for a little on a trip back home to Toronto - where I had the delight of hauling Valentino here to the Masters of Cosplay contest at @fanexpocanada and back! I'm super honored this costume won a Judges' Award. Thank you so much @cowbuttcrunchies @maegwyncosplay and @chell.creates ! It was such a fantastic experience for my first competition. Meeting all the other competitors and seeing their amazing work was so inspiring! This cosplay has gone through many changes since I started it back in February, and honestly it's still not done lmao! I can't wait to keep working on it and elevating it further, and I definitely want to compete in the future! Here's a few shots from my build book - the hardest parts were sewing all these complex shapes in the shoulders and collar and getting the silhouette just right. I learned a lot!
