Art isn’t made in a vacuum, and it’s only fitting that my last “Dean, Don’t Dance!” Post (for now) be one of gratitude to the incredible people that contributed to making the show as social as it is to me! Thank you to @kitchensinkfest for giving me the opportunity to first create and stage it. Thank you to @emmamelisande for answering a cold call from a rambling theatre maker and saying “Hell yea, let’s do it!” For co creating the audio describer/character hybrid and putting so much of your humour and personality into the script! Thank you to @theresonlyoneyasmin for being a such an incredible stage presence, for being willing to be a part of the world of the show. For being with this show for its whole journey and for being an excellent Gloria!! Thank you to @pearl.pty.ltd for being the scaffolding that holds the show together and doing all the things I can’t. Best SM in the industry without a doubt!! @caitycowanart for LX designing the show twice and for being such warm, calm and kind presence in the room. @ryan_harcher thank you for the care you put into everything you do. You’re a rare human and a hell of a composer/arranger! @cassms thank you for taking the thing I was most nervous about, and turning it to the most cathartic moment of the show. I’ve worked with many a choreographer, you’re the first one to make the sessions feel organic and fun! I treasure that so much. @charleyallanah , thank you for so enthusiastically agreeing to be a part of this season. For bringing your own voice and powerful charisma to the text.
