Dear Black Deaf people, you deserve joy—even in the midst of the world’s chaos. Happiest belated birthday to our very own embodiment of Black excellence @cascade4ever who unites our community in the celebration of Black joy, pride, and brilliance. ✨🎉 #BlackDeafJoy #DeafCommunity #JoyAsResistance #BlackExcellence #DeafPride #Inspiration #CelebrateLife #HappyBirthday #SpreadLove #Resilience #DeafCulture #instagood #love #art #fyp

Imagine being Deaf and your entire family never and still refuses to learn sign language. Like many others, I’m not close with my hearing family because of it. It’s isolating and hurtful. Dear hearing people, I’ve invested in hearing aids, speech therapy, learning sign language, and providing accommodations—all to bridge the gap. Accessibility is a two-way street, and if you won’t meet me halfway, it’s disrespectful to the time, money, and energy I’ve poured in. For the record: those who know me know I’m incapable of hate, but I will always protect my peace. ✌🏾❤️ Learn sign language and follow @socially__sound to learn about us 🥹 Sincerely, A Deaf person who’s done enough. #deafcommunity #education #fyp #deaf #viral

Dear Black Deaf soul, I know what it feels like to move through a world that wasn’t built with you in mind. To constantly adjust, explain, and still feel unseen. That kind of weight can make you tired… even fed up. But don’t stop. Because your resilience is rare. The way you keep showing up, keep pushing, keep finding joy anyway…that matters. You are not behind. You are not less than. You are becoming. And everything you’re fighting through right now? It’s building a version of you that will succeed. Keep going. Always. 🤍🤍🤍 #love #deaf #representationmatters #fyp #instagood

Repost: The world keeps asking us to survive systems that were never built to hear us. We celebrate history. We raise awareness. We post, we talk, we acknowledge. But people are still unheard. Still unseen. Still trying to exist in spaces that don’t understand them. How do you heal in a world that keeps overlooking you? We don’t just deserve awareness. We deserve to be heard. To be understood. To be respected. Survival is not enough. #MentalHealthAwareness #BeKind #HumanityFirst #instagood #WeAreHuman

I’m still holding onto this Deaf History Month moment. ✨ Access done right doesn't fade. Two languages. One performance. Same emotion. Same rhythm. Fully shared experience. This is functional equivalence—where access and artistry are one and the same. Deep appreciation to @dcdddbhh and the DC Commission on the Arts for creating space for this Deaf History Month experience featuring Dreamgirls by @honestlyspeakingpresents . #DeafHistoryMonth #Accessibility #InclusionMatters #ASL

WCW ✨CK! When Deaf rage gets turned into art and suddenly everything is understood without explanation. @chrisunkim (RIT / NTID alum 🤍) Met the amazing CK this weekend after seeing her work at the @whitneymuseum of American Art last year and I’m still processing it. That pie chart? Yeah… it said everything about being Deaf in education, daily life, and navigating interpreters. No translation needed. Just truth.

Dreamgirls is not currently available right now but we can help bring shows like this back. If enough people ask, support, and show up, doors open. If you want more performances like this, follow @honestlyspeakingpresents , donate if you can (link also on my bio), and push for more spaces where Deaf and hearing artists rise together. One sings. One signs. Both shine. This is what real collaboration looks like when Deaf artists are centered, visible, and celebrated I’ll try to make sure I keep sharing upcoming shows with you. #ASL #DeafArtists #Accessibility #Collaboration #Representation InclusionMatters

Following up on my last post because so many of you asked for more this moment deserves a deeper spotlight ✨ Highlighting Deaf artist @ashleabrittney 🤟🏾 Music in ASL isn’t direct translation, it’s interpretation art and lived experience. It’s about capturing emotion rhythm and meaning in a way you can see and feel. The same song can look completely different through another Deaf artist’s hands and that’s the beauty of it. Ashley doesn’t just translate music she transforms it. This is why visibility matters. Deaf artists aren’t just making things accessible they’re redefining what art looks like. If you believe in this kind of work and want to see more of it grow please consider supporting through the donation link in my bio and visit @honestlyspeakingpresents page. Your support helps expand access and amplify Deaf artistry to more communities. #Deaf #ASL #DeafArtists #Accessibility #InclusionMatters Artistry Representation

A Deaf performer is signing. A hearing performer is singing. Same message, same rhythm, same emotion—two languages moving as one. But here’s what stands out: the Deaf artist isn’t hidden in the background or treated as an “addition.” They are centered. Visible. Leading. The performance is designed so that ASL isn’t an afterthought—it is the experience. Both are stars. But the spotlight is intentional. This is what true collaboration looks like. Not just working side by side—but creating in a way where everyone is fully seen, valued, and essential to the outcome. Now imagine if our academic and corporate spaces worked like this. Because inclusion shouldn’t feel like being added in. It should feel like being built in. #InclusionMatters #Accessibility #EquityInAction #ASL #Leadership
