Imagine being Deaf and your entire family never and still refuses to learn sign language. Like many others, I’m not close with my hearing family because of it. It’s isolating and hurtful. Dear hearing people,
I’ve invested in hearing aids, speech therapy, learning sign language, and providing accommodations—all to bridge the gap. Accessibility is a two-way street, and if you won’t meet me halfway, it’s disrespectful to the time, money, and energy I’ve poured in.

That pie chart? Yeah… it said everything about being Deaf in education, daily life, and navigating interpreters.

Both are stars. But the spotlight is intentional.
