AS IT IS Vol. 4 is born this day and ready to greet interested in creativity and care.
We’ve got another night of music and merriment that’s sure to make even the hardest hearts soften. The lion (our collective outrage at the apparent, large death of human decency) shall lay down with the lamb (our enduring insistence to love and be loved by one another) on this night of celebration! Let them both find rest in our communal admiration.
We’ll have performances by strong talents and dear friends all evening to help us accomplish just that!

The time has come once again for us to join together in celebration of the latest installment in the AS IT IS series!
On November 8th, I’m inviting you all to my home to do just that. But I won’t be able to pull it off by myself; here you see all the remarkably talented people who are going to help me bring this new creative archive into the world. Look at all those names! A true testament to the rich artistry of this community 💫
Please mark you calendars: we’ll have performances from 7-11. Bring whatever you like, and if you can share it, even better.
And we’ll have zines. Oh yes, plenty to go around, carrying the collective heart of a generation in this time at this place. Join us, won’t you?
If you’ve seen me in the last few weeks, I may have told you that I’d be calling for submissions for the AS IT IS Vol. 3 “tomorrow.” I apologize to anyone I unintentionally misled, since my mind has a way of tumbling ‘tomorrow’ over several days, weeks at times. Funnily enough, no one got to hear me bring that tired declaration into yesterday’s relative truth…
Instead, let’s seize the only time we have for sure: TODAY. Submissions for AS IT IS Vol. 3 are now open.

I am so proud to share the works of so many talents in this collection. Please come out and help us celebrate the beauty captured herein!
It will be a truly special time; we’ll have readers and musicians invite us all into their creative worlds. You’ll also find nourishing food carefully prepared by our own @bigfeelingzhaver and herbal cigarettes by @angelscigs as the perfect literary aperitif.
We’ll have plenty of drinks to share, but feel free to bring anything you like. You may also want to bring a chair or a blanket if the mud pit of my yard has dried out enough…

Well friends, the time has come once again to celebrate words and voices.
AS IT IS vol. 2 Zine Release!
Please join me at my home, endearingly nicknamed the Tooth, for an evening of music, language, and community.
On May 31st, some awe-inspiring musicians, poets, and other creatives will take the stage to share parts of themselves with each of us. And we’ll share a part of our lives here too, if only for an evening, to remember what love and camaraderie looks like. These days, it feels harder and harder to see, but our only hope to find it is together.
We’ll start hanging around 7, and performances will begin soon thereafter.

Good evening, dear deadbeats. Here’s your news as promised:
Firstly, the time has come for a new installment in the AS IT IS zine series. For this reason, Deadbeat Press is officially issuing another open call for submissions of literary works and photography or other visual art pieces. See the link in the bio to submit, and please spread the word to your most trusted and talented friends and colleagues. The first edition was so special, and I trust that this next collection will be just as awe-inspiring.
To that end, I am also here to announce that an order for more copies has been placed and should be complete within the next week. If you would like a copy, please reach out to me or this account to inquire about availability. I will be contacting those who signed the interest list at the release party after the initial print ran out.
You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase a copy from me at this year’s @pietschhouse spring showcase. Please come see me so we can wax poetic about the fleeting beauty of print media. I’ll have AS IT IS Vol. 1 available alongside some collage works and other literary pieces I’ve created. I’m grateful to be one of the many local artists at this event, and you’ll be thankful to take part in the action.

Friends, do not feel that your patience has been in vain. The day is nigh. The winds are rolling in, bearing the rains of our salvation, that we may breathe freely again.
AS IT IS vol. 1, the first official publication of Deadbeat Press, will procure its place in the world on November 9th.
To celebrate the occasion, I invite you all to my home, where we shall sing and sway along with the songs of some dear friends. Additionally, the stage will be set for the work’s illustrious contributors to share their work, from the zine or otherwise.
