and tender again happened for the fourth time, with the vigilance and openness of the first. we yearned for open hearts that grew with political education and prioritized the community above the self. we screened dope is death (2020), to show the meaningful impact of positing acu-detox to the community, and the ways this can realize into community programming and community fight. this is what movements require - our specialized skills offered in service - when we become too saturated in our roles, power transactions emerge that ultimately weaken the movement. power must be shared and dispersed fairly and equally, amongst leader and worker, so there is variety in how knowledge and skill are dispersed. the worker/employer dichotomy is not absent in organizing work. we had the generous practitioners below offer their practices and knowledge: @omneya___ @de_adyn @jeyolyn angela schubert @de_adyn @nankyr @rocket4841 @t_r_a_n_q_u_i_l_o_ plz_kt @danandscran @echo.acupuncture Erica @kathrosdancer Julian Diego @keeeepfuckinmeoverrr thank you to @nankyr and Julian for a grounding conversation on where Toronto goes from here after the screeing of @dopeisdeath . and thank you for the delicious food from @sherrianne11 <3 we are tending to the body to tend to the fight - this fight is a radical means of identifying and resisting what is critical of the world we lie in, and creating points of solidarity amonst us all to resist the material conditions that wrong us and killl us.

We gathered for the 2nd iteration of Tender Again around the holidays (a very challenging time) & everyone that showed up was meant to be there. We were so blessed again for the broadening of our outreach for those who were able to connect, engage & receive with us that day. We held an acu detox teach in & folks were so enthused, it was pure magic to be able to share this 5pt needle protocol developed by the Black Panthers, Young Lords and in collaboration with the Barefoot Doctors in China in the 70's the Bronx NYC during the drug epidemic. The protocol was developed to serve community care and thats what we are carrying forward. Everyone who attended was able to go home with knowledge around how to seed the 5pts for themselves, loved ones and continue to share the medicine, skills, resource and more largely the care that is deeply apart of this practice. Ear needles or seeds are used in this protocol supporting; stress, anxiety, grief, depression (self-injury), anger, fear, sleep, trauma, addictions (mood, emotional distress, cravings, withdrawal), pain and so much more!  As we approach yr of the fire horse, I honor all who have come before us, all the teachers and guides. The houseless folks, frontline workers, BIPOC ancestors and all oppressed people's that have been long fighting for liberation. The Black Panther party was established in the yr of the last fire horse 1966 - may we continue to light the way forward together. This gathering will continue (monthly) as long as we are fighting for dignity, respect and the sovereign, just and free world that we want and are creating together! We need one another to find our way through all this pain!! We were gathered by & with 7 practiconers, so many volunteers and @rosinamultiplefutures who offered a collective vocal sounding. Thank you all deeply for your offerings, to community who were able to show up and all those friends, family and loved ones who shared the event! Practiconers Angela Shubot Myself Erica Ayla @echo.acupuncture Jeyolyn @omneya___ We love you From our team @bubblewandbrb myself and Angela S
