I think every story starts with an image in our mind. Before plot, before dialogue, there’s just that one picture we can see clearly even when we don’t fully understand it yet. You might try explaining it to someone and say, “I don’t even know the story yet, but I can see a dog drinking Fanta.” And somehow, that’s enough. That image becomes the beginning. Asghar Farhadi once said the first idea for A Separation came from an image of a man washing his father who had Alzheimer’s. The whole story was later built around that moment. I think it happens to me too. Sometimes it’s just one scene. Two lovers having a picnic. Nothing deep yet, nothing fully formed. Just an image sitting in my head. Then slowly, everything else starts growing around it , the characters, the tension, the history, the ending. And I think life is like that too. A lot of things start as moments we don’t fully understand at first. A random conversation. Somebody you meet once. A feeling you can’t explain. A day that seems ordinary until you look back years later and realize that was where everything changed. Maybe that’s why some moments stay with us for so long. Not because they looked important at the time, but because they quietly became the beginning of something else. A friendship.A calling.
