As advocates against violence and abuse in the music industry, we at Industry Blackout are calling on music streaming platforms and industry stakeholders to remove all music by the artist D4VD from their catalogs.
D4VD, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old, and mutilation of human remains in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Celeste was 14 years old when her dismembered and decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4VD.
Prosecutors allege he had a sexual relationship with the young girl and killed her after she threatened to expose it. The murder charge carries special circumstances of lying in wait, committing murder for financial gain, and murdering a witness to a crime, making Burke eligible for life without parole or the death penalty. Music streaming platforms have a responsibility to curate content that aligns with societal values of respect and decency. Allowing artists who perpetuate negative stereotypes or promote harmful behavior to have a platform is counterproductive to the global fight against domestic violence and abuse.
We urge music streaming platforms to take immediate action and remove D4VD's music from their catalogues. This step will set a precedent in the industry, underscoring the importance of maintaining an ethical code in the music we choose to promote and consume.
Please join us in calling for a necessary change in the music industry by signing this petition. Together, we can push for an industry that truly reflects the values of safety, respect, and integrity.

I don't want to hear that "there's no real R&B anymore" bullsh*t after today. @jozzy new album is proof that's not true. AND the legends like @officialjonb who made the "real R&B" ARE STILL AROUND!
Glad I was able to be apart of this. #ST2GHB out now. ✍🏾🎶❤️
Today begins the fight of my life and legacy while in pursuit of justice and transparency. I ask for you all to stand with me and for those who have already shown support these past few months to continue doing so as I need all of you now, more than ever.
JUSTICE 4 DDOT, a public advocacy campaign dedicated to bringing transparency, accountability, and truth to my ongoing legal battle involving the case Babygrande Global, Inc. vs. Mag Rodriguez & EVEN in the Southern District of New York (if you want to look up the case, I encourage you to do so).
For the past year, I have remained committed to defending my name and correcting the harmful narrative that has misplaced me at the center of a dispute I neither created nor controlled.
I am speaking out now because silence only enables further harm.
It is my belief that I was improperly joined to the Babygrande vs. EVEN & Mag Rodriguez lawsuit, despite having no decision-making authority, no ownership, and no involvement in the corporate actions at issue.
It is also my belief that EVEN intentionally neglected its duty to indemnify me, deliberately misclassified my employment, and in doing so, left me exposed to legal, financial, and reputational harm that no employee should ever endure.
I should never have been placed in this position.
I now look forward to clearing my name entirely and being removed from this case so that I can move forward with my life and my work.
PLEASE COMMENT, REPOST, SHARE AND TAG.

I wrote this 3 months ago and initially wasn’t going to post for the sake of being civil but now I refuse to keep the peace at the expense of my own.
It is heartwarming that so many of you have reached out with kind words and support.
I take comfort in the fact that although I planted seeds in a desolate garden, rotten fruit falls off on its own.
I’ve spent the last 15 years of my life passionately working in music. 13 of which were spent building two businesses, a nonprofit organization and the careers of immensely talented artists. The past two years have been at the intersection of music and tech, educating artists on the value of direct-to-consumer and nurturing their relationship with their biggest supporters.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of new people and being reintroduced to many of you that I met earlier in my journey. Nothing has been more rewarding than being able to wake up every morning and make an impact on how artists transformatively grow their businesses and create sustainability.
From the deepest part of my heart and soul, I would like to thank each and every one of you that responded to emails, answered phone calls, and sat down for meetings. More importantly, I thank you for trusting me with your time, energy and livelihoods. I challenged myself each day to focus on the bigger picture; make positive change in as many lives as possible.
However, as we all know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This couldn’t be more fitting because behind the scenes, HELL is exactly what I’ve been through the past two years working for my previous employer….[cont. slide 2 & 3.]
The Free Agency has sparked a lot of conversation. More importantly, a lot of love and support. I appreciate everyone who’s reached out and has been connecting me with new work/job opportunities.
