The repetition is personal, the search will win out. Oil on linen on canvas and whatever else I can throw at it. I have been thinking about flags. We may need a new flag… #artfullife #this1life

Happy Birthday to gallery artist Danielle Dimston! Her graphite-on-paper Beeline series feels especially apt today, with its sense of topography, direction, and time. With broken lines, Dimston’s works meander in their flow, increasingly exploring and intersecting. As the minimalist series progresses, her continuous dash expands its route. She lifts the pencil, interrupting and returning to her journey again and again. Dimston’s drawings examine space and the constructs of light and energy within. Her lines course and cross, as if traversing a map and offering passage over time. — @ddimston Beeline Nos. 2, 3, 5, 2002 Graphite on paper 22 1/2 x 30 inches, each 24 3/8 x 31 7/8 inches, framed — #municipalbonds #danielledimston #worksonpaper #graphiteonpaper #drawing #beeline #birthday #topography #time

~~A Multi-Scalar Habitat~~ Opening this Saturday! 6-8pm Curated / orchestrated by Austin Thomas Featuring Kristin Cronic, Danielle Dimston, Dahlia Elsayed, Alyssa Fanning, Jeff Feld, Traci Johnson, Ellen Letcher, Sharon Louden, seven seven ceramics, Clintel Steed, Scott Teplin, and Julie Torres A Multi-Scalar Habitat gathers twelve artists whose practices build worlds tactile, imagined, and hand-made. Together, their works assemble an unexpected community of objects: drawings that open portals, ceramics that behave like organic architecture, textiles that function as intricately woven tapestries, and paintings that stretch gesture into luminous landscape. Installed in close relation, these works form a layered environment that shifts in scale. The exhibition is rooted in the ethos of Pocket Utopia, my (Austin's) long-evolving, artist-run curatorial project that began as a Brooklyn salon for experimentation, conversation, and communal making. PeepSpace shares this lineage of artist-driven activation. Here, the gallery becomes a shared habitat, one that grows through proximity, play, and the pleasure of looking closely. In "Unopposable Thumb," Danielle Dimston’s drawing turns a familiar evolutionary advantage on its head. Where the opposable thumb enables grasp and dexterity, she considers what happens when that capacity is reimagined in mitten-like form. Loops of black ink define the shape, the line circling back to hold a single, continuous contour. What results is spare yet specific, energetically curious—an anatomical inversion. — @ddimston Unopposable Thumb, 2025 Ink on paper 11 x 10 inches, artwork 13 x 12 inches, framed — #municipalbonds #danielledimston #drawing #inkonpaper #worksonpaper #unopposable #thumb

Final week! Danielle Dimston's solo exhibition, "The Enigma of Geometries," is on view at Municipal Bonds through Saturday, December 20. In her watercolors, New York-based artist Danielle Dimston composes layers of tonal fields that deepen gradually, carrying translucency and weight in shifting proportion. Light filters through strata as depth accrues, and the surface reads less as image than as coalescing mass. Drip lines connect forms, crossing the surface and tracing gravity's pull. The process evokes a primordial scene—elements accumulating, turbulence giving way to coherence, boundaries in flux as substance condenses into order. Each work sustains that charged passage when structure crystallizes into being. @municipalbonds 1275 Minnesota St, San Francisco Tuesday–Saturday, 12–5pm — Danielle Dimston The Enigma of Geometries, No. 8, 2025 Watercolor on Winsor Newton paper, 140lb. 22-1/4 x 30 inches, artwork 25-1/4 x 33 inches, framed — #municipalbonds #danielledimston #enigma #geometry #worksonpaper #watercolor #drawing #primordial

In Danielle Dimston's solo "The Enigma of Geometries," her drawings are sites of emergence. Spirals advance and recede, looping through space with precision. Each line builds, rejoining as form begins to take shape. These structures expand and contract, rhythm and order held in continual exchange. The result is a record of motion breathing into form. On view through December 20. @municipalbonds 1275 Minnesota St, San Francisco Tuesday–Saturday, 12–5pm — Danielle Dimston Dying Venus, 2025 Ink on paper 11-1/4 x 10-1/8 inches, artwork 13-3/4 x 12-5/8 inches, framed Cave/Water/Wind, 2025 Ink on paper 11-1/4 x 10-1/8 inches, artwork 13-3/4 x 12-5/8 inches, framed — #municipalbonds #danielledimston #worksonpaper #inkonpaper #drawing #venus #cave #water #wind

In Danielle Dimston’s new work, matter concentrates, light contends with density, and form asserts its first presence. Her watercolors explore states of formation, where energy gathers and disperses, and structure advances through material and perceptual force. Tonal fields deepen gradually, balancing translucency and weight as light moves through accumulating depth. Each work holds that primordial passage from flux to coherence, when structure begins to take form. On view in "The Enigma of Geometries," Danielle Dimston’s solo exhibition, through December 20. Please note: the gallery will be open on Wednesday, November 26, from 12–5pm, then will close for the holiday weekend and reopen on Tuesday, December 2. — @ddimston The Enigma of Geometries, Nos. 1 and 2, 2025 Watercolor on Arches paper, 140 lb 22¼ × 30 inches (artwork) 25¼ × 33 inches (framed) — #municipalbonds #danielledimston #minnesotastreetproject #sanfranciscogallery #watercolor #worksonpaper #geometry #enigma
