What a day!!! @traka 360 🥉
I can’t give you a full race report but there were so many things that happened in the full 360km.
In a nutshell:
The tracker was not really accurate but I was basically in the front group the whole day leading into Port de la Selva’s single track.
When @mattia_de_marchi thought it was time to really push the pace in Cadaqués he was never to be seen again 🙏🏻😅
My hamstrings started to cramp around km 190 but managed to keep pedalling, and stay in good company with @tobiaskongstad & @nils.crrvn .
We had split up on the last big climb where I needed to drop back from Tobias, but then I rode up the climb at my own pace, and had caught up again before the last big downhill.
I was happy share the last 75km with my Danish Viking; he mostly pulled me to the finish line.
With my legs having cramped so much, I was beyond stoked to roll over the line in 3rd place overall, although with a completely empty tank.
So happy knowing that I put all the work in, and it finally came together in the end when it counted.

Tomorrow I start the @thetraka 360
Unfortunately I didn’t feel my best this week due to a small cold from last weekend but we are going to make the most of it !! On this amazing bike !
Paint job inspired by nature and one of the most stunning routes around around Cadaqués.
Super thrilled with all the support I have been given from people who helped me towards this project.
It’s going to be a totally new experience - 360km of gravel, as the longest I have ridden was not more than 320😅
You can follow me Saturday on the live tracker

GAME CHANGER GRAVEL ÉDITION
We’ve been riding the new ENVE G SES 4.5 Pro and they deliver exactly what modern gravel racing demands: fast, stable, light, and incredibly capable off-road. Tested, approved, and ready for big days on any terrain.
Súper excited to be part of that ♥️
Barely touched the bike the last few days after leaving everything out on the course last week.
Back to building and repairing bikes, while already prepping a new upcoming build 🫢

Thanks again to the whole @klassmarkcycling team for putting on such a massive event.
From stopping in feed zones to full-gas racing from start to finish a lot has changed over the years since my first @thetraka

There will always be things to improve, but the most important thing is being outside and riding your bike something I absolutely love.

Another @thetraka 360 in the books.
The race went pretty much how I hoped, moved into a good position heading into the first climbs and paced it from there, looking for the right group. What surprised me most was that we caught the peloton with all the favorites just before feed station 1.
After a super quick feed by Phillip, I left the station mid-pack. To my surprise, I wasn’t the only one starting to struggle, some of the pro guys were letting wheels go as well heading into the north section of the course.
I came up just short of a big group ahead and ended up with one other rider, which later became three of us for a long stretch.
The Empordà section is always a killer. Picked up some dead bodies myself included. At that point, it’s all about finding a pace that keeps you moving, knowing there’s still 150 km to go.
Dug deep to hold the wheel in the final hours, and thanks to the support out there, I managed to drag myself to the finish.
Just missed out on a top 30 Pro, (p33) which honestly felt impossible beforehand. Super stoked to pull it together at my home race.
Thanks to all my sponsors for the support and to everyone behind the scenes making it happen ❤️
Specially shout out to @envecomposites and @hutchinsoncycling for the last minute product tune up

@thetraka preview with @ddeelen + @precisionfandh
This will be my sixth time racing Traka. I was also involved in the very first edition, washing bikes all weekend. Being there since the beginning makes it special. It’s been amazing to see it grow from a small local race into the biggest gravel event in Europe.
In terms of my personal goals for this year, honestly, I’m just hoping for a good day of suffering. With the level being so high now, it’s hard to pin a result on it as an amateur, but I want to get the most out of myself and enjoy the race.
Fueling is key in a race like this. I’ll stick to PF&H products, just like last year. In the early editions I used to bring peanut butter and jam sandwiches, but the race has evolved since then. It used to be a bit longer and with more elevation, but now it’s about 2h shorter than when I rode my first 360.
I really like Precision because the taste is subtle and not overly sweet, which makes a big difference, especially in the heat. Last year my intake looked more or less like this:
~9L Fluid (with PH 1000 Tablets)
PF 30 Gels
PF 60 Chew Bar
My advice for everyone is eat and drink well, and to keep peddling. Only that will move you forward :)
🌀 Best of luck to Diederik and everyone racing Traka this weekend!!
