very excited to share, that my short documentary film, Shades of Red, has been listed as a Semi-Finalist at the Rhode Island International Film Festival @flickers.riiff , officially selected by CineAsian Films @cineasianfilms , and nominated by Toronto Women Film Festival @tinwff This is the first short doc I made independently, and I genuinely hold this film close to my heart. Thank you, 晴 @princessofchinatown , for co-creating with me, and making this happen. For all the sharing and letting me be part of your life to witness and tell the story. Knowing you, through each moment each conversation, has truly been a GIFT 💛 Endless grateful to the ballroom community and culture. I’ve been inspired and influenced through individuals in Beijing voguing & ballroom scene back in 2021, and have had the urge of sharing ever since. It’s a long journey of learning, experiencing, reflecting, creating, and being; so many friends, mentors, practitioners & people from the community, have guided me to grow as a doc filmmaker and person. Genuinely happy and honored that I could share this precious gift from Qing, from all the ballroom community practitioners, to a larger audience through my lens.
