We are thrilled to present a compelling dialogue in contemporary painting and sculpture at this year’s @artduesseldorf , featuring works by @arangchoii , @dddavidroth & @adelheidrumetshofer . Art Düsseldorf 2026 17 – 19 April 2026 Booth E06 Arang Choi confronts viewers with the concept of an all-souled world. Her surreal paintings are populated by a recurring, anthropomorphic creature that constantly deforms and adheres to no fixed formula. This mystical, mythical being evokes a profound sense of familiarity in the viewer, serving as a universal reference to the unity of all existence. David Roth’s Flower Paintings series uses flower bouquets as unconventional painting tools, producing dense, gestural, and organically textured abstractions. The works emphasise physical process, material experimentation, and the transformation of everyday natural objects into expressive painterly instruments. Within his broader oeuvre, the series reflects Roth’s ongoing interest in chance, performative gesture, and the boundaries of abstraction. In stark contrast, Adelheid Rumetshofer’s practice is a study in atmosphere and abstraction. Her ethereal works dissolve form into fields of soft colour and light, inviting a quiet, meditative contemplation. The pieces are a testament to the power of suggestion and the nuance of surface. Together, these artists‘ presentations create a multifaceted look at the possibilities of painting today, showcasing a range from the hyper-specific and narrative to the purely abstract and emotive. David Roth @dddavidroth „Rot ist eine schnelle Farbe“ 30 May – 5 July 2025 | Elektrohalle „The body of works called „Brains“ - sculptural bodies composed of the most diverse components of previous painting processes - sets a special accent within the exhibition. Layered on top of each other, they include cut-out canvases, painted pieces of fabric, used pallets, cleaning rags, test scraps, floor coverings and fragments of discarded compositions. Much of this comes from the simple, often invisible activities that precede the visible works: trying out, wiping away, discarding, making notes. What otherwise remains in the background takes centre stage here - condensed into a form that eludes the classic image size and gains a new presence as a sculptural object. Painting becomes sculpture. It also creates a space for thought, in which detours, traces and remnants are seen not as deficiencies, but as actual substance. “ - @juliamoebus , director of the Vienna Actionism Museum (@wam_museum ) Image: David Roth, Brain 18525, 2011-2025 oil, acrylic, pigment and spray paint on various fabrics pilled on trestle made by the artist from used stretcher bars, 125 x 152 x 42 cm Photos: @andrew_phelps_buffet @dddavidroth #davidroth #elektrohallerhomberg #salzburg #soloshow #halle #sculpture

Feel cordially invited to the Artist talk @elektrohalle_rhomberg June 18th / 7pm Julia Moebus-Puck @juliamoebus in conversation with David Roth @dddavidroth David Roth “Rot ist eine schnelle Farbe” on view until 5 July 2025 This exhibition marks the inaugural solo show by Vienna based artist David Roth (1985 born in Oberpullendorf) at Elektrohalle. The exhibition features new paintings, installations and a video, specially conceived for this presentation. “Rot ist eine schnelle Farbe (Red is a fast colour) – this sentence refers to a scene in the Austrian TV series Schlawiner, in which two regulars philosophise about colour perception in the context of motor racing. Years earlier, David Roth had already read about ‘fast’ and ‘fleeting’ colours while reading Leon Battista Alberti’s Della Pittura – the standard work on the art of painting written in the 15th century, which is regarded as the first modern theory of painting. Roth’s work moves between these two poles – art-theoretical analysis and everyday philosophical humour – as a serious yet playful questioning of what painting is – and can be.” – Julia Moebus-Puck, Director of the Vienna Actionism Museum @wam_museum #artistalk #elektrohallerhomberg #davidroth #juliamoebuspuck #salzburg #austria
