‘Mon Amour Sauvage’ is the latest addition to the new DCD song cycle and is available exclusively on @Bandcamp . Link in bio. This is a song devoted to Mother Nature. A pagan love song to celebrate her works and the transition of spring into summer.
In deference to the time-honoured classical tradition of letters I have dedicated this book of songs to Mnemosyne, goddess of memory and mother of the Muses. After all, without memory culture would simply stagnate, the Muses meaningful influence would be lost upon us all and time would virtually stand still. Memory, time and future projection are in fact recurring themes in my writing and aside from my own observations have been deeply influenced by the literature of my youth, ancient classical literature and the dystopian science fiction of J.G. Ballard and Philip K. Dick. The works of William Blake as well as the French decadents and symbolists such as Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud have also had a profound effect on my writing and have encouraged me to always look beneath the surface and in turn to rise above the superficial - Brendan Perry
