A good quality reamer is clearly essential for chambering a rifle but what I find more important is selecting the right live pilot bushing. Too loose of a bushing and you are going to induce the tiniest bit of chatter. I found this to be especially true when using a bolt nose counter bore reamer. Too loose of a bushing and it doesn’t cut as smooth as it should. Install the right bushing and the tool cuts metal like butter. This really cemented on how important those little bushings are and how big of a difference .0002 size variance can make. selecting the right pilot bushing can really improve the quality of the chamber job. Yeah it’s more expensive to carry a bunch of pricy little bushings but the chambers always come out ready to perform. @mansonprecisionreamers
Yeah, placing in a match feels great but the real win is getting to shoot alongside your buddies. That’s what makes these competitions what they are.

@shortactioncustoms steel challenge. Man what a blast! I couldn’t have asked for a better squad to shoot last weekend. Only being able to post 20 pictures doesn’t do this weekend justice. I was fortunate enough to be able to have my little guy by my side this weekend which made for a much more memorable trip. The little guy absolutely killed it this weekend! He hammered steel at multiple distances all the way out to 1212 yards! And everyone at the match absolutely loved the little dude for his enthusiasm and attitude. He stuck it out for two days helping me and the squad , grabbing brass and calling impacts! Sean @blue.ridge.ranch also hooked the little guy up with so much gear including a set of @vortexoptics binos and thanked him for all his hard work! Proud dad moment for me and such an appreciation for guys like Sean and his crew that make all this happen. Well it was a weekend for the books! I haven’t shot a 2 day centerfire pro match since 2024 and basically no cf matches for the most of 2025 as life can sometimes toss us some curveballs. This year with the love and support from my favourite lady @wildashshecomes lately I have been able to chase quite a few 1 day regional matches to sharpen my skills and prep for this amazing venue. Even though I am no stranger to the lead farm, this was my first time experiencing the @theleadfarm_wa barrel burner and man what a blast! @apirateslifeforspee@ricksmunn and the entire munn family hosted another incredible venue. The cof was spicy but honestly such a fun time. A shooter couldn’t ask for a better venue to test their skills. Day 1 was hit and miss for me landing me in 32nd ish place for the day. Day 2 I managed to clean up my act and pull it together to secure a 19th place finish. This is the first time ever breaking into the top 20 at a prs pro series match and I am pretty stoked. The match would have not been nearly as fun without my buds by my side @trickynick444@jgsi.kai@mike.dahlberg.503@hoffy_out_west and the legendary Bob Hamilton for all the good laughs. Also thanks to @impactscoring for covering the venue so my family could watch from home and sportsman’s warehouse for their generous donations to the prize table.

Another awesome weekend getting humbled by a challenging course of fire at the @theleadfarm_wa . The creativity in designing these stages is truly impressive. Big thanks to the Munn family for creating a fun and dynamic venue that keeps us on our toes and our skills sharp.
