What a spectacular afternoon on the water! ⚓ A huge thank you to Phil and LJ for hosting my family and me on the very first run of the 2026 season for Rochester Pedal Tours. Seeing the lower Genesee River from the water offers a completely different perspective on our local history. Passing directly underneath the massive span of the Colonel Patrick O'Rorke Memorial Bridge and getting an eye-level view of the rusted hull of the Spirit of Rochester was incredible. From the historic Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse peeking through the trees to the award-winning boardwalk at Turning Point Park, it’s a unique, pedal-optional way to spend 100 minutes. Checking in from the Port of Rochester! ⚓ My family and I are heading out on the water today with Rochester Pedal Tours on their Cycle Boat. 🌊 I’ve spent years exploring these banks on foot, but seeing the river from the water offers a completely different perspective on our local history. I'm looking forward to catching a closer look at Turning Point Park's massive boardwalk, the "Tiki Hut" boat sheds, and the rusted hull of the Spirit of Rochester. It’s a unique, pedal-optional way to spend 100 minutes. I'll be sharing more about the experience very soon. For now, I’m off to catch the breeze on this lovely day!

I love when the wisteria blooms at the George Eastman Museum. I always set my sights on May 15 for a quick stroll through the grounds, which are always free and open to the public. A sunny weekend is hardly the best time to visit, though—it is prime season for prom, graduation, and senior photos.

What an absolutely gorgeous morning to spend at the Genesee Country Village and Museum! Happy Mother's Day, happy spring, and happy 50th anniversary, @gcvmuseum . I'm looking forward to 1812: The Genesee Valley at War next weekend—May 16 & 17. I hope you, too, enjoyed time outdoors today.

Today was a magnificent day for the 24th annual Rochester Dachshund Parade in Washington Square Park. If you missed it, mark your calendar for this day next year. It's usually Mother's Day Weekend, and the same day as the Lilac Festival parade in Highland Park.
