May Impact Update from The Healing Project This month, through our Healing on Wheels Program, we have successfully served: • 36 Households • 169 Individuals We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer, donor, and community member who continues to help us show up for families across Central Texas. At this time, we still have: • 16 Unserved Households • 70 Individuals Still Waiting for Support A total of 52 households representing approximately 239 individuals signed up for assistance this month alone. The need continues to grow, and our goal is to make sure every family on our list receives support so we can reopen our applications for additional families in need. “Everyone says the music industry used to be better. But better for who?” @mauroisruiz , host of The Manager’s Playbook, and @thirdeyedon , Community Director at Venice Music, went deep on artist management, the music industry and what independent artists actually need to win, live at SXSW during Day 1 of Vision:8291. Vision 8291 is an annual convening designed to center visionary BIPOC leaders globally, raise awareness locally, and fuel grassroots organizations in Austin, TX. Every year during SXSW, Vision:8291 brings together creators, innovators and industry leaders to build something that belongs to the culture. Ready to join forces with the @artspaceusa team to bring some of our visions for the future to LIFE ✨️ DAWA was one of 6 Austin-based arts and culture organizations selected to be a part of an 8-month immersion program, including: 🌱 @_ofcoloratx 🌱 @vortex_rep 🌱 @thealchemytheatrecompany 🌱 @groundfloortheatre 🌱 @hideouttheatre Through Artspace Immersion, we will work with Austin-based real estate professionals, and a network of arts leaders to create a vision for our next phase. This work is funded by @themoodyfoundation . On top of the professional development and training, each org receives a $5,000 planning stipend at the end of the year. I am so excited to be returning to the space, this time to share a bit of our own culture and tradition.
