New work: Huge honour to work on the artwork, motion, and design for Pioneers. Out now via @mercurykx with limited physical copies released for Record Store Day 2026.
Pioneers celebrates the little-known lineage of female composers who were fundamental to the invention and evolution of electronic music. Against the backdrop of the turbulent socio-political landscape of the 20th century, they fearlessly experimented with machines and early technologies, unlocking processes and techniques that continue to shape how we produce, record and listen to music today.
For the artwork, I drew inspiration from the graphical visualisations produced by Oscilloscopes - electronic instruments that display how one or more signal voltages change over time. Notably used by Delia Derbyshire in the groundbreaking documentary’Sisters With Transistors’.
Special thanks to Carly Hemsley for getting me on board. Visuals created using a mix of After Effects, Live Action, and Davinci Resolve. After Effects Oscilloscope simulator built by Jam Hemstad.
