Gustavo Anselmi @anselmigustavo & David Kohan @davokohan SYNOPSIS Trimming (in joint slang) is the action of cutting with scissors the leaves from the marihuana buds. "Trimmigrants: Searching for the green gold", is an intimate look at the migrants or so-called trimmigrants who are joining the gold rush of our era to pick the green gold of cannabis in Northern California. Gustavo, an aspiring actor, and David, an unemployed commercial director from Argentina, venture to the Emerald Triangle, encompassing Mendocino, Humboldt, and Trinity counties, in search of opportunity. What they discover once they arrive is far different than what they heard and envisioned. This documentary provides a three-year journey alongside Gustavo and David as they work as cannabis trimmers, while also featuring interviews with migrant workers from diverse backgrounds. Through candid storytelling, it sheds light on the often-overlooked darker aspects of the global cannabis industry.
