When I was young i wanted to play basketball but the courts were a little toxic for my sensitive little heart so I gave it up after one short season on a rec league (pictured here). During the pandemic, at 35 years old, I started teaching myself how to play. Now I have a whole community of musicians and artists (shout out Hoops Commission) who I play with every week. the camaraderie, and reconnection with my body, and the meditation of “getting in the zone” have given my mind, body, and soul so much. Come hoop with me. Or find your movement meditation. Get out of your head. Life is beautiful!
