It’s here! 𝙶𝚛𝚊𝚣𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙱𝚎𝚕𝚕 is out now and available everywhere. Huge thanks to the cover girl, my lovely wife @stephanie_mrstephers - whose wise spirit is also baked into this music’s bones. Thank you to @kanevibrations - my friend for decades and one of the most talented people you could ever hope to have sitting on the other side of studio glass. Thank you to Matt Werth and @rvngintl who have been standing behind my music for what feels like many lifetimes. And of course, thank you to all of you. What a journey getting to today and I’m so grateful for all the folks out there giving their time and attention to the old yet still thriving art of solo piano music. Hope you enjoy the album :) ‘Graze the Bell’ David Moore, piano Recorded by @kanevibrations with assistance from @owen.mulholland.music at @oktavenaudio Mixed by @kanevibrations with assistance from @abbeyyleww at @electricgarden Mastered by @alexdeturk at @bunkerstudio Executive production by @stephanie_mrstephers Artwork by David Moore Design by @willworkforgood Photo by @ninakhamidullina

This is one of the only videos that made it out of the recording sessions for Graze the Bell. A take of No Deeper - though not the one that made it to the album… The studio days for this record were structured wildly different than my usual workflow. Normally it’s: bring in a bunch of music and record one song at a time, doing multiple takes until you get “the one” (and then a few more of course). Standard. For these sessions I came in assuming the same flow, but once we started, I realized the approach needed to drastically shift. I don’t know why, it just… in that moment felt like it needed to be different. So instead of building Graze the Bell song by song I went more freestyle, playing them out of order, jumping around, abandoning takes, playing one song repeatedly and then setting it aside for hours before returning. Changing the forms. Changing the ranges. Basically trying to stretch the songs in as many different directions as they could go before breaking. As we went, I had @kanevibrations mark the ones I felt great about and then we moved on, almost never stopping to listen. After two days of this I knew in my heart we had the album, but to be frank still had no idea what it would become once everything was combed through. As it turns out, when all was said and done, a lot of the takes that eventually found their way to the album were indeed not marked as favorites, and they likely would have slipped me by in another context. A good lesson to take forward into the next sessions. Or anything really. ‘Graze the Bell’ out now on @rvngintl
