Went to the test screening at @grosvenorpicturetheatre of the Feature Film ‘Conscious’ the other week. Wow, what a Tour de Force director @schansuki is. The atmosphere she has created is immense. I was lucky enough to see her exhibition ‘Still Point’ in Berwick-Upon-Tweed before we started filming and knew then she can create atmosphere and storytelling brilliantly. The subject of Alzheimer’s was handled very carefully and artistically. There were tears in the audience (me included!) and feedback of how they have never seen reconstruction scenes made so well and differently. I DP’d the drama scenes on 'Conscious', with Catherine Derry BSC @catherine.derry.dop filming the interview scenes. Catherine gave me some mentoring via the ‘Raising Films’ scheme. So was a nice full circle there too. Fantastic contributors, production and crew too @aconitedocs With funding by BFI & Sundance . Conscious just had its premiere in Copenhagen @cphdox Festival. Final screenings tonight and Friday too. See it if you’re over there, it’s a great experience seeing it on the big screen. (Last 3 pics and video clip are from the Premiere!) How did the filming go? Well it went pretty…. Gangsta! 🙂 Great production, cast and crew. True story from the co-director’s great grandfather’s accounts. The director is here today to tell the story because of certain events on the front line.
