An end of an ERA.
Bittersweet moment today as we parted ways with our classic Mercedes SL 380.
I first got the gray one over 10 years ago which unfortunately got totaled.
I loved it so much, I quickly got another. The timeless cream white.
We have so many great memories in this car. From first dates with Jill to it being our getaway car on our wedding day. To road trips with friends, in countless friend’s weddings, music videos, and all kinds of shoots.
It wasn’t always practical, but it romanticized everything. Simple moments, like a grocery run on a summer night, became special.
Luckily, the people who bought it are super cool. They are retiring and are moving to the South of France. (Not jealous at all). And taking this car with them. It’ll be in good hands and in a beautiful place.
But, I’m definitely hoping to get another one later in life. There’s just something so special about a classic.
Maybe it’s the longevity, the practice of stewardship, or the simplicity and slowing down of life that does it for me.
I’m always genuinely looking to be a more grateful person.
Someone who really cherishes the moments and sucks out all the marrow. Someone who always finds the special within the mundane.
The type of person that not only trusts the process, but also enjoys every part of it.
I definitely don’t always succeed, but here’s to trying.

The first 3rd of my life has full of grace and full of suffering. Beautiful and at other times felt like all out war just to continue.
But what I do know is God has been in all of it, and with me through it all. “Though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for YOU are with me.”
I’m still just grateful, and holding on to faith and hope that he has a plan and a purpose for me and it’s far better than I can ever imagine.
I’m still just a dreamer, dreaming with God.
